1. PM Modi will share his thoughts with the people in the country and abroad through ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on All India Radio at 11 AM today. It will be the 91st episode of the monthly radio programme.

2. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar presented Agriculture Infrastructure Fund Awards in New Delhi on 30 Jul.

3. *PM Modi launched the Power Ministry’s flagship Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme.* The scheme aims at improving the operational efficiencies and financial sustainability of the Distribution Companies (DISCOMs) and power departments. It is being implemented with an outlay of over Rs 3 lakh crore over a period of five years from 2021-22 to 2025-26.

4. Civil Aviation Ministry has flagged-off direct flights between Delhi and Deoghar. The airline will be deploying an A320 Neo, which is a 180-seater twin turbofan engine passenger aircraft.

5. Home Minister Amit Shah calls upon all concerned agencies and States to come together to end drug trafficking and drug addiction.

An interfaith conference was held in Delhi on Saturday in the presence of National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, during which religious heads vowed to condemn insult to Gods/ Goddesses/ Prophets. The conference resolved to “ban organisations like PFI” which indulge in “anti-national activities”.

CRIME REPORT

1. *MADHYA PRADESH* : A 22-year-old student was found hanging from a tree on the campus of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on Saturday,

2. *WEST BENGAL* : Partha Chatterjee case: Foreign tours of Arpita Mukherjee, the close aide of former state minister and multi-crore West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) recruitment scam accused Partha Chatterjee, are currently under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials probing the case.

3. Three Jharkhand Congress MLAs were apprehended in West Bengal’s Howrah with a “huge amount of cash” in their car, police said. Howrah (Rural) SP Swati Bhangalia said the MLAs were identified as Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari, Khijri MLA Rajesh Kachhap and Kolebira MLA Naman Bixal.

4. An AgustaWestland helicopter was seized from the house of Pune builder Avinash Bhosale during a CBI raid in connection to the ₹34,615-crore DHFL scam. CBI has been raiding various locations for the past few days to find assets linked to the scam. A consortium of 17 banks, led by Union Bank of India, was allegedly cheated in the scam.

All Gujarat Federation of Tax Consultants and Income Tax Bar Association requested the Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Revenue Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and the Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes extend the due date for filing Income Tax Return (Non-Audit and Salaried) for AY 2022-23 under section 139(1) of IT Act, 1961 for Non-Audit category of assesses from 31 July 2022 to 31 August 2022.

2. Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has approached a court in Mumbai, requesting it to record the statement of her sister Rangoli Chandel in the defamation complaint filed by veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar.

Akhtar had filed the complaint in the court in November 2020, claiming that Ranaut had made defamatory statements against him in a television interview, which allegedly damaged his reputation.

3. DRDO’s Long Range Smart Glide Bomb “Gaurav” will be manufactured by Adani Defence And Aerospace.

DRDO has developed two version of the glide bomb, namely, Gaurav which is the winged version which has a range of up to 100 km. It contains a pre-fragmented and penetration-blast warhead. Gautham, the non-winged version has a range of 30 km and in the future the range will be enhanced to 100 km.

4. Union minister of state for defence Ajay Bhatt told the Lok Sabha on 29 Jul that the Centre has sanctioned ₹498.78 crore to encourage innovation and support start-ups in the defence and aerospace sector till 2026.

5. Indian Navy’s INS Tarkash has completed its Mediterranean deployment and further entered the Atlantic Ocean to continue its long-range voyageIndian Navy’s guided missile frigate.

6. The Indian Army is planning to procure approximate quantity 800 Light Armoured Multipurpose Vehicle (LAMV) for Mechanised Infantry and Armoured Corps.
