1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma Awards at the second Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Padma Awards – one of the highest civilian awards of the country, are conferred in three categories – Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.
2. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has called for stronger multilateral cooperation to build resilient economies, accelerate sustainable development and ensure inclusive growth. Addressing the Global Convergence for Growth Summit virtually in New Delhi.
3. India’s Critical Mineral Mission has gained significant momentum with the successful auction of 56 critical and strategic mineral blocks and 11 Exploration Licence blocks by the Ministry of Mines.
4. The Tamil Nadu government is preparing to introduce a new scheme under which every child born in government hospitals will receive a one-gram gold ring. Named the ‘Thai Maman Gold Ring Scheme’, the initiative has been approved with an estimated annual outlay of Rs 755.83 crore.
5. Vice Chairperson of NITI Aayog, Dr Ashok Kumar Lahiri, has said that the total trade of India has grown by 5.4% in the last quarter. The Vice Chairperson added that India’s exports reached 1.84 trillion dollars and imports grew by 6.5 per cent in the last quarter.
6. The Office of the Principal Controller of Communication Accounts, under the Communications Ministry, successfully conducted a Pension Adalat for Quarter One of Financial Year 2026-27 in New Delhi. During the Adalat, grievances of pensioners from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) were heard and resolved, including issues related to pension payment, commutation, and other benefits.
7. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman yesterday met a delegation led by United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer in New Delhi.
8. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) to establish the NHAI Centre for Economics of Transportation, Mobility and Logistics at NCAER. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that the centre will serve as a dedicated platform for undertaking applied economic research on transportation, mobility and logistics.
9. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan paid tribute to Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his martyrdom day. In a social media post, the Vice President described Dr Mookerjee as a visionary leader, renowned educationist, and staunch patriot.
10. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2026 for undergraduate admissions. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now access their scorecards through the official CUET portal.
11. Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying George Kurian has resigned from the Union Council of Ministers. President Droupadi Murmu has accepted the resignation of Mr Kurian with immediate effect.
12. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 23 June 2026 to establish the NHAI Centre for Economics of Transportation, Mobility and Logistics. The centre is planned as India’s first permanent and independent research institution dedicated to the economics of transportation, mobility, and logistics.
13. Lakadong Turmeric Gains Global Recognition : Lakadong Turmeric is a turmeric variety from the Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya and received Geographical Indication status. It is known for curcumin content of about 7% to 12%, compared with 2% to 3% in many commercial turmeric varieties. Curcumin is the principal bioactive compound in turmeric and is used in food, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.
14. Rajasthan constituted a high-level committee to prepare the draft of The Rajasthan Uniform Civil Code, 2026. The panel was announced on 22 June 2026 after a Cabinet decision taken on 14 April 2026 under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister.
15. India plans to transfer Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle technology to private companies through the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre, or IN-SPACe, as part of the country’s private space sector framework. The initiative covers eligibility rules, support from the Indian Space Research Organisation, and commercial use of launch vehicle technology in the domestic space industry.
16. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for the next two days.
Heavy rainfall conditions are also expected over Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Goa, Odisha, Telangana, Kerala and North- eastern parts of the country.

1. The Supreme Court stayed the Delhi High Court order directing the premature release of a life-term convict in the 1993 Kolkata Bowbazar blast case. A bench comprising Justices PK Mishra and Sanjeev Sachdeva gave the interim relief on a plea filed by the West Bengal government, challenging the 5th June order of the high court directing the immediate release of the 77-year-old convict Md. Rashid Khan.
2. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Pankaj Aggarwal, IAS on Monday who was the then Principal Secretary in Department of School Education and Agriculture, in connection with the misappropriation of government funds from the account of Haryana School Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad (HSSPP) and Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board (HSAMB) maintained with the Sector 32, Chandigarh branch of IDFC First Bank.
3. Social activist Anna Hazare on Tuesday (June 23, 2026) warned the BJP-led Maharashtra government to withdraw the ‘illegal’ amendments made to the Right to Information (RTI) Rules, or he will stage an indefinite hunger strike from July 5.
4. A court in Maharashtra’s Nashik on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to self-styled godman Ashok Kharat’s wife in a cheating and black magic case linked to a land deal, saying the matter is a civil dispute that has been given the “colour of a criminal case”.

1. INS Udaygiri, a stealth frigate, and INS Kavaratti, an anti-submarine warfare corvette, both indigenously designed and constructed warships of the Indian Navy, arrived at Nha Rong Port, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on 22 Jun 2026 during their operational deployment to the South East Asia region.
2. Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, chaired the 15th meeting of Defence Information Technology Consultative Committee (DITCC) in New Delhi. The meeting laid emphasis on Aatma-Nirbharta in IT and adoption of cutting-edge enablers in a time-bound manner.
3. Indian Naval Ship Tarkash, a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, departed Port Louis, Mauritius, on completion of her port call for further deployment in the South West Indian Ocean Region.
4. The United States of America has announced a 230 million US dollar sustainment package for India’s M777A2 ultra-light howitzers. In a social media post, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said that the defence partnership between India and US is continuously growing and the proposed sale is ready to be concluded.
5. Pakistan’s claims of Rafale losses during Operation Sindoor have been decisively refuted once again, with an official Indian Air Force document confirming that all 36 Rafale jets acquired under the 2016 deal remain in service.
