1. Vice President shri C. P. Radhakrishnan has urged young people to stay away from drugs and encourage their friends to say no to drugs. Addressing the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Geetanagar College in Guwahati Yesterday.

2. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav arrived in Dubai yesterday on a 3-day visit to UAE. He will be participating in the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress in Dubai and will engage with investors, pitching Madhya Pradesh as an attractive investment destination.

3. In Telangana, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) and TGSRTC are likely to introduce a common travel pass for Metro Rail and RTC buses, with daily and monthly options for commuters, within the next 15 days. Once implemented, commuters will be able to use a single pass for travel on both Metro Rail trains and RTC buses.

4. Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the Nasha Mukt Bharat 2029 roadmap in Panaji, Goa, on 6 September 2026 after a state security and narcotics review meeting with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The three-year plan covers the period 2026 to 2029 and sets targets for drug-network disruption, fugitive recovery, laboratory destruction, and demand reduction.

5. Google has launched India-first artificial intelligence models for agriculture through Google DeepMind’s AnthroKrishi team. The two models are Agricultural Landscape Understanding (ALU) and Agricultural Monitoring and Event Detection (AMED), and they are designed to generate field-level agricultural intelligence.

6. The monsoon session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly begins today, 7 September 2026, and is expected to witness stormy debates between the ruling Congress and opposition parties over governance, unfulfilled promises, and key policy matters.

7. The Vice President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan will arrive at Imphal on Tuesday on a one-day visit to Manipur.

8. Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has announced the CM-SAATHI initiative, aimed at helping students from economically weaker families prepare for JEE and NEET without paying for expensive coaching.

Two-month crash course: The latest announcement includes a two-month intensive course for engineering and medical entrance examinations.

9. In West Bengal, the Kalimpong district administration has issued a high alert to residents residing along the lower Teesta River basin. The alert has been issued due to heavy landslide which partially blocked Teesta River Near Chyakoong in Mangan district, Sikkim. Mangan, East and Pakyong districts administration has also issued a high alert to the people of Sikkim, dwelling in downstream Teesta river basin areas.

10. Floods have affected normal life in several parts of Bihar, with major rivers, including the Ganga, Gandak and Kosi, flowing above the danger mark. In view of the rising water level of the Ganga, authorities are maintaining heightened vigilance in downstream areas. The river has crossed the Highest Flood Level at several ghats in Patna.

1. Justice Sanjay Kumar Agrawal is scheduled to be sworn in as the new Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.

2. The Punjab Cabinet has objected to the appointment of Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra as Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, saying the state government was not consulted as required under the Memorandum of Procedure.

3. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has carried out searches at 89 locations across 20 States in connection with three major “digital arrest” scam cases as part of Operation Chakra-VI, arresting three persons so far.

4. The Madhya Pradesh government has taken major action in the suspected poisonous and illegal liquor case in Sagar. On the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, three excise officials have been suspended. Another official has been removed from the district and attached to the headquarters. The Chief Minister said that no person found guilty in the case will be spared.

At least five people were killed when a five-storeyed building housing college students collapsed on Sunday (September 6, 2026) in South West Delhi’s Satya Niketan, a dense hub for paying guest or PG accommodation near Delhi University‘s South Campus.

Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda spoke with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and took stock of the situation following the building collapse in Satya Niketan area of New Delhi.

1. India is introducing a National Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM) program to regulate drone flights below 1,000 feet, ensuring safe and coordinated operations across logistics, agriculture, surveillance, and emergency services.

This system will integrate with the DGCA’s Digital Sky platform, which already manages drone registration, pilot certification, and flight permissions.

2. 🚀 DRDO: Project Kusha DRDO’s latest official publications list the successful maiden flight-test of the Kusha long-range surface-to-air missile as a September 2026 development, marking an important step in India’s indigenous long-range air-defence capability.

3. Two Japanese C-2 transport aircraft have landed at Air Force Station Jodhpur ahead of Exercise Veer Guardian 26, marking the arrival of the Japanese contingent for the second edition of the India-Japan air combat exercise.

The Indian Air Force said in a post on X that the exercise between the IAF and the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) will be held in Jodhpur from September 9 to 22. The exercise is aimed at enhancing interoperability, operational synergy and mutual understanding between the two air forces.

4. India and China held their first Corps Commander-level military meeting in Arunachal Pradesh on 6 September 2026 to discuss border tensions and de-escalation measures along the eastern sector of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The meeting took place at the Wacha-Damai Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) point in the Kibithu sector of Anjaw district, which lies on the Indian side of the border.
