Guwahati, August 9 2026: Guwahati Royals will look to hand Dibrugarh Warriors their first defeat of the season when the two sides meet in the Imperial Blue Packaged Drinking Water Assam Premier League 2026, at the ACA Stadium, Guwahati, on Monday.

Warriors currently sit top of the table with four wins from as many matches, while the Royals are second with 6 points from four games. Ahead of this contest, Royals captain Rishav Das is banking on the support of the home crowd to give his side the edge in this top of the table clash.

Das, who has been among the Royals’ most consistent performers this season, believes that the backing from the stands has been special to witness throughout the campaign. “The support for the Guwahati Royals is huge. Whenever we play our matches, we have seen a huge crowd coming into the stands only to support us. Especially playing in Guwahati as the home team, we have felt that support from the fans,” he said.

The Royals skipper has been in fine form, currently sitting fifth on the tournament’s run-scoring charts with 123 runs, averaging 41 at a strike rate of 124.24. He is also joint-highest for most fours hit this season (15). Das led from the front as he scored a match-winning 60 in a five-wicket win over Nagaon Rangers earlier in the tournament.

For Das, though, leading from the front carries a significance beyond his own numbers. “I am really happy to see how we’re doing as a team in this tournament. Whenever the captain scores runs, the dressing room is always charged up. When you lead from the front and win games for your team – there is no better feeling than that,” he added.

A win on Monday would draw the Royals level on points with Dibrugarh Warriors and hand them a significant boost as the tournament heads into its business end. With the crowd expected to be out in numbers once again, Rishav Das and his side will hope home advantage proves to be the difference against a Warriors side yet to be beaten this season.
