1. Indian athletes won four medals in weightlifting on Saturday. Mirabai Chanu was in a league of her own in the process of securing gold in the 49kg category. She wins India’s first gold medal at the 2022 CWG in Birmingham.

Earlier in the day, Sanket Sargar won India’s first medal at the 2022 CWG by winning silver in the 55kg category. Gururaja Poojary was the second athlete of the day to win a medal as he won bronze in the 61kg category. Later past midnight, Bindyarani Devi brought out cheers once again with a stunning third attempt in Clean & Jerk to secure a silver medal in the women’s 55kg category.💐

2. Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain enters CWG 2022 quarters with 5-0 win over NZ’s Nicholson.

3. Indian women’s hockey team midfielder Navjot Kaur has been ruled out of Commonwealth Games 2022 after testing positive for COVID-19. The 27-year-old, however, showed no symptoms and has been in isolation for the past two days.

4. Coca-Cola has signed Olympic gold medalist, Neeraj Chopra for Limca Sportz promotion. Recently, Neeraj Chopra has become the first-ever Indian to win a silver medal at World Athletics Championships with his best throw of 88.13 m. Also, Neeraj Chopra has been ruled out of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 in England due to an injury he picked up at World Athletics Championships.

5. Indian women’s hockey team met Wales in their second Pool A clash. Thanks to a solid overall performance in the second quarter the Indian team went into a 2-0 lead by Wales scored one in the third quarter to set up a delicious fourth. Finally, the match ended 3-1 in India’s favour thanks to a second from Katariya in the fourth quarter.

6. Badminton
Indian team outclassed Sri Lanka by 5-0 to win their second clash in Group A of the Mixed Team event. They also smashed Australia 4-1 in their final Group Stage game.
