1. BRICS leaders are gathering in New Delhi for the September 12–13 summit hosted by India at Bharat Mandapam. Discussions are expected to focus on trade, investment, energy, food security and cooperation among developing economies. PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping are scheduled to meet today. Border-management issues, trade and economic ties are expected to dominate the talks; it is Xi’s first India visit in nearly seven years.
2. The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways launched the One Tag system on 11 September 2026 at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai. The facility allows FASTag users to switch the backend issuing bank without removing or replacing the physical sticker on the vehicle windshield.
3. India has crossed 80 lakh Human Papillomavirus vaccine doses under the National HPV Vaccination Campaign. The campaign targets adolescent girls aged 14 and uses the single-dose Gardasil-4 vaccine in government health facilities across the country. The National HPV Vaccination Campaign was launched on 28 February 2026 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
4. Andhra govt implements MSME and Entrepreneur Development Policy 4.0 to promote industrial growth : Andhra Pradesh Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister K. Durgesh has said.
5. The BJP announced Debasish Sharma as its candidate for the by-election to the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat in Assam. Besides the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, five Assembly seats will also go to polls on 6th October. These are Madurantakam and Dharapuram in Tamil Nadu, Rejinagar and Nandigram in West Bengal, and Thattanchavady in Puducherry.
6. In Tamil Nadu, by-elections for Madurantakam and Dharapuram Reserved Assembly constituencies will be held on 6th October.
7. In Jammu and Kashmir, the Jal Shakti Department has finalised a comprehensive Implementation and Reform Plan under the Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 action plan, aimed at ensuring reliable and quality drinking water for rural households.
8. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini directly transferred a total of ₹1,890.16 crore into the accounts of beneficiaries of various welfare schemes via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) at an event held in Chandigarh
9. The Delhi Government has approved the introduction of a ‘Grassroot Training Support Assistance’ component under the Mukhyamantri Khel Protsahan Yojana. Under the new initiative, eligible athletes training regularly at Delhi government sports centres and stadiums will receive financial assistance of two thousand rupees per month.
10. In view of the BRICS SUMMIT 2026, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum and Amrit Udyan will remain closed for public visit from 11th to the 13th this month.
11. The flood situation remains critical in Bihar. According to the State Disaster Management Department, more than 44 lakh people remain affected across 85 blocks in 14 districts.

1. The Supreme Court on Thursday issued notice to the Centre, Delhi Police, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and other authorities on a plea challenging the closure of 17 metro stations in Delhi during the NEET paper leak protests at Jantar Mantar in July.
2. India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has directed domestic airlines to complete a one-time mandatory screening for psychoactive substances among all pilots by 31 July 2027. The order covers an estimated 14,000 pilots employed in India and is linked to aviation safety oversight under the Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) framework.
3. Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale has said that there should be an Akali-BJP alliance in Punjab and his party is ready to support both the parties. He criticised Aam Aadmi Party government for the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab.
4. In Haryana, the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested another accused in connection with an alleged multi-crore-rupee financial irregularity and embezzlement of government funds from the Panchkula Municipal Corporation.
5. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has suspended three officials of its Building Department with immediate effect for dereliction of duty and negligence in dealing with unauthorised construction.
6. Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel administered the oath of office to Justice Alpesh Yeshwant Kogje as the new Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Justice Kogje has become the 30th Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh.

Seventeen people were killed in two separate road accidents in Bhandara and Nanded. In Bhandara, nine people — six women and three children — died after a Mahindra Bolero from Sakoli towards Lakhani crashed into the rear of a Tata Eicher truck on NH-53 at 3.31 am Friday.
Eight died at the spot and another woman was declared brought dead in Nagpur. Thirteen others were injured.

1. IIT-Ropar and the Army Air Defence College, Gopalpur, signed a Memorandum of Agreement on 10 September 2026 for an MTech degree programme in Defence Technology for Indian Army officers. The agreement provides academic accreditation for officers undergoing the Long Air Defence Course at Gopalpur and links military training with formal postgraduate study.
2. A five-member Armenian Armed Forces delegation led by Major General Alexander Tsakanyan visited an Indian Air Force (IAF) station under the Western Air Command.
Indian Army’s Brigadier Shishir Bhardwaj has been commended for his leadership and contribution to peace and security in South Sudan as he concludes his tenure as Commander of Sector South under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

3. The decision to hold the National Film Awards in Gujarat instead of their traditional venue in Delhi has sparked debate.
