1. The Income Tax Department will undertake an Advance Tax e-campaign for the financial year 2023-24. The Central Board of Direct Taxes said that the Income Tax Department has received certain information on specific financial transactions undertaken by persons and entities during the current financial year.

1. 5TH GENERATION FIGHTER JET: India’s most advanced and lethal aircraft that is taking shape in the Bangalore-based Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) got a big boost earlier this week after the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved a ₹15,000-crore fifth-generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) project. If everything works out as planned, the first aircraft will take to the skies by the end of 2028.

2. The Indian Army announced plans to conduct a tri-services demonstration of made-in-India weapon systems and platforms in an exercise named BHARAT SHAKTI at Pokhran, Rajasthan on March 12. The event is anticipated to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Army Chief General Manoj Pande.

3. EXERCISE BHARAT SHAKTI: During the exercise, a range of made-in-India weapon systems will be showcased, including the Pinaka Multi barrel rocket launchers, Arjun tanks, Dhanush howitzers, Tejas fighter aircraft, and various versions of the ALH Dhruv choppers. The display aims to highlight the capabilities of indigenous weapon systems and platforms developed and manufactured by both the Indian public sector and private firms.

4. India achieves milestone in Naval defence with successful trial of indigenous HEAUV ( High Endurance Autonomous Underwater Vehicle). The trial run, conducted on March 8, marked a significant achievement for DRDO, with the vehicle demonstrating success in all aspects. The HEAUV is poised to be inducted into the Indian Navy in the near future.

The HEAUV, resembling a miniature submarine, weighs 6,000 tons and measures 12 meters in length. Equipped with automatic propellers and self-controlled direction capabilities, the vehicle boasts state-of-the-art sensor modules, a specialised communication suite, collision avoidance devices for underwater navigation, and sonar systems to detect underwater objects through sound waves.

5. The K-4 (Kalam-4) is a nuclear-capable, intermediate-range, submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) developed by India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The K-4 is 10 meters long, weighs 20 tons, and can carry a 2-ton payload. It has a maximum range of about 4,000 kilometers.

The K-4 is part of the K missile family, a series of underwater launched ballistic missiles developed by DRDO and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL). The K missile family is named after Indian scientist and former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

6. Security forces busted a terrorist hideout in the Sopore area of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir and recovered arms and ammunition from the spot.The operation was launched by the Sopore Police, Indian Army and 179 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

7. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Raising Day is celebrated every year on March 10. This day marks the establishment of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in 1969. CISF is under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It protects places like airports, seaports, power plants, and other infrastructure projects.
