1. India signed the Free Trade Agreement with the four-nation EFTA bloc on Sunday.

PM Modi on Sunday congratulated the negotiators and signatories on the signing of the Trade and Economic Participation Agreement (TEPA) between India and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal co-chaired the meeting on the India-EFTA trade agreement in the national capital on Sunday.

2. Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Adarsh Swaika called on Kuwait Deputy Prime Minister Imad Mohammad Abdulaziz Al-Ateeqi and apprised him of the strong bilateral cooperation between India and Kuwait in the sector hydrocarbons.He also spoke about the strong possibility of cooperation between the two countries in the upstream and downstream sectors.

3. India and Bangladesh’s border forces have agreed to reduce attacks on BSF personnel by criminals from Bangladesh along the 4,096-km International Border. The 54th bi-annual Director General level talks between BSF and BGB in Dhaka ended with a joint agreement to increase coordinated patrols, educate bordering populations, and aid victims of human trafficking.

4. Pakistan lawmakers have been forcing its Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to seek help from India in tracing the bodies of at least 14 fishermen who went missing after their boat capsized in the sea near Keti Bandar– a port in the Sindh province. Pakistan seeks india’s help after their navy failed to find bodies victims.

5. The Foreign Minister of Iceland, Bjarni Benediktsson, arrived in the national capital Delhi on Sunday. Iceland was the first Nordic country to publicly extend support to India’s candidature for permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

6. Rajendra Prasad Goyal, Director (Finance) of NHPC, has recently assumed the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director of NHPC Limited, a premier hydropower company in India and a Schedule ‘A’ enterprise under the Government of India.

1. Two people were killed and one injured in a suicide blast in Peshawar Board Bazar, Pakistan, on Sunday morning.

4. Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday took oath as Pakistan’s 14th President, a day after the veteran politician was overwhelmingly elected as the next head of state. Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa administered the oath to the 68-year-old Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the Presidential Palace.

5. Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Sunday expanded his Cabinet for a second time by inducting two new members. Prachanda inducted senior Madhesi leader and chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Upendra Yadav as the Minister for Population and Health and Koshor Shah, also from JSP, as Minister for Forest. With this, the number of Ministers, in the Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister Prachanda, has reached 22.
