1. External Affairs Ministry, Sibi George, met with the Foreign Minister of Iceland, Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir. In a social media post, the External Affairs Ministry said that both sides discussed the implementation of the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement.
2. External Affairs Ministry, P. Kumaran, visited the Angkor Wat Temple and Ta Prohm Temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Angkor Wat is the world’s largest ancient temple complex in Cambodia and a magnificent symbol of India-Cambodia shared civilisational heritage.
The External Affairs Ministry said that from 1986-1993, India was the first country to extend support for its restoration. The Archaeological Survey of India is leading restoration and conservation efforts in Ta Prohm Temple.
3. International Conference on Carbon Markets—Prakriti 2026 commenced in New Delhi as a flagship initiative of the Government of India. Organised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the event is part of the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026.
4. A vessel carrying crude oil from Russia reaches Mangaluru in Karnataka: The transfer of crude oil from the vessel Aqua Titan at New Mangalore Port to the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited refinery is progressing rapidly and is expected to be completed soon. The ship, which recently arrived, carrying around 96,000 metric tonnes of crude oil from Russia, is supplying the refinery with its latest consignment.

1. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged global leaders to join Israel and the United States in confronting Iran, saying recent missile attacks show Tehran poses a wider global threat.
2. Pakistan has been ranked number one on the Global Terrorism Index for the first time, following a 6 per cent increase in terrorism-related fatalities last year. According to the Global Terrorism Index 2026, published by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), deaths from terrorism in Pakistan are now at its highest level since 2013, with the country recording 1,139 terrorism deaths and 1,045 incidents in 2025, highlighting a deteriorating security landscape.
3. US President Donald Trump is set to appear on a gold coin commemorating America’s 250th anniversary, sparking questions over its legality. The US Commission on Fine Arts approved the design on 19th of this month, with minting set to follow once final dimensions are confirmed.
4. Ukrainian and US delegations discussed key issues and next steps on settling the Russia-Ukraine conflict during fresh talks held in Florida.
5. In Qatar, seven people were killed in the crash of Qatari Armed Forces helicopter in the country’s territorial waters. The Interior Ministry announced the completion of the search operation following the recovery of the wreckage and the bodies of all those on board.
6. In Bangladesh, at least 12 people were killed and several others injured after a train collided with a passenger bus at a railway level crossing in Cumilla.
7. Unidentified gunmen assassinated Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Bilal Arif Salafi inside the terror group’s fortified Markaz Taiba headquarters in Muridke, Pakistan, mere moments after Eid ul-Fitr prayers concluded on Saturday.
