Style Decoded: Vinn Sander

Vinn Sander 1

American film and TV actor Vinn Sander is best known for being part of several Dhar Mann Productions’ mini series. Vinn was also seen in films like President Evil (2018) and Fear And Desire (2019). Here, he speaks to Soumya Vajpayee about his idea of style and more.

How do you define style?

To me, style is another way an individual can express themselves. Through certain aesthetic choices such as clothes, hair, and jewellery, you can tell a story about yourself. For example, a person wearing a suit everyday tells you something different than a person who wears shorts and a tank top.
Someone’s style can tell you what that person values and a little about their personality.

Which kind of outfit do you love the most?

What I choose to wear each day really varies and can reflect my current mood, where I have to be, and what I will be doing. Since I workout a lot, I do love to be comfortable and tend to wear fitness attire when I am lounging around at home or going to the gym. If I am casually meeting friends, I like to keep it simple with a fitted T-shirt and pants or jeans. I do love a nice suit. Everytime I go shopping, I always go to the suit section and check out the latest suits. Suits are classy, yet sharp, and I get excited each time I have an occasion to wear a suit.

Who is your style/fashion icon?

I admire those who express themselves freely without any care in the world. That, to me, shows the courage and confidence that one can have. I look up to them for fashion guidance. One of my favorites is The Rock, Dwayne Johnson’s style. I admire his ability to pull off fitness attire as well as a nice suit.

What is that one fashion/style accessory that you cannot leave home without?

Accessorizing is another form of expression and you can tell when you find the perfect accessory, it just fits well. It took me a while to figure out what I liked exactly, a lot of trial and error. Nowadays, I love wearing my Harmoni pendant and rings. I like how accessories can complete an outfit, and the pendant and rings add a nice touch. The Harmoni pendant was gifted to me from my best friend at a time where I didnt know who I was, he was helping me figure that out. I have a personal attachment to the pendant which is also why I love wearing it.

Which celebrity do you admire the most for their style quotient and why?

I admire Miguel’s (American singer) style. I admire his confidence, and his ability to tie in vibrant colours and designs to make a cool and fun outfit. He shows that there is no one style that fits all, one person can have multiple different styles and look great in all of them. I look up to him for inspiration.

Which is your favourite perfume?

Recently, I have been a fan of Dior’s Sauvage cologne. I am particular about what I put on my body, especially because one’s cologne is another identifier of their style.

A fashion/style taboo that you strongly condemn

I don’t condemn anyone’s fashion, I actually enjoy seeing how everybody’s fashion is different, from accessories to outfits. It’s cool to get an essence of someone’s personality without speaking to them, just based on their style. I admire one’s ability to pull off bold outfits.

A message for all saachibaat.com readers

There’s no right or wrong way to express yourself. Don’t be discouraged if someone can pull off something that you may think you can’t wear. Everybody is different, you just have to find what works best for you. Your fashion is different, your personalities are different. I encourage you to be bold and express who you are in your own way. Don’t be afraid to try new things. Now go show everyone who you are!
