Actor-producer Parul Yadav promotes the well-being of local weavers in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu

Actor-producer Parul Yadav, who works primarily in Kannada films along with a few Malayalam and Tamil films, took social media to promote local weavers in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu who have suffered immensely during the lockdown. 

“Indian handlooms are best in the world and it is upto all of us to ensure that this beautiful tradition is preserved and promoted,” said Parul, urging her fans and people in India to support them.

She added, “Mahatma Gandhi said that India lives in her villages and unless we ensure that there is sufficient economic opportunity in rural India, we cannot become the superpower that we can be.”

She also shared a video on social media, which was a quirky take on using a handloom saree as a drape over conventional clothes.

The video has garnered several likes on social media.
