Afghanistan announces permanent closure of its embassy in Delhi, cites ‘persistent challenges from Indian govt’
“India has been a steadfast strategic partner of the erstwhile Afghan Republic since 2001, and we acknowledge the limitations and concerns that govern the realm of realpolitik and the balancing act required at a difficult time in a geo-politically sensitive region. Therefore, we firmly believe that the decision to close the mission in India at this stage and to transfer of the custodial authority of the mission to the host country is in the best interest of Afghanistan,” the statement read.

1. The RBI imposed monetary penalties on 5 cooperative banks for deficiencies in regulatory compliance. These cooperative banks are: Shri Mahila Sewa Sahakari Bank, Porbandar Vibhagiya Nagarik Sahkari Bank, Sarvodaya Nagarik Sahakari Bank, Khambhat Nagarik Sahakari Bank, Vejalpur Nagarik Sahkari Bank.

6. The World Bank and 🇧🇩Bangladesh sign five financing agreements worth over $1.1 billion to help the country achieve resilient and inclusive growth.

The five projects include early childhood development, urban primary health, secondary education, riverbank protection and navigability, and gas distribution efficiency.

1. *SECURITY FORCES KILLED TWO TERRORISTS* , including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander trained in 🇦🇫Afghanistan, in a gunfight on Thursday. Quari, a top LeT commander, was active in Rajouri-Poonch along with his group from past one year.

2. *RAJOURI ENCOUNTER* : The Indian Army said that the supreme sacrifice was made by its bravehearts who died during an operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri District to prevent collateral damage to women and children. Three Army soldiers, including two officers, have been killed in this ongoing operation.

3. *INDIA conducting military drills with 🇷🇺RUSSIA & the 🇺🇸US simultaneously* : Amid the ongoing crisis with Ukraine, a duo of destroyers from Russia’s Pacific Fleet have arrived at the Bay of Bengal. The collaboration with Russia coincided with the Indian Army’s involvement in the Vajra Prahar training exercise at Umroi, Meghalaya, where they partnered with the US Army Special Forces.

4. India is now set to give preliminary approval to three mega indigenous projects to manufacture another aircraft carrier, 97 more Tejas fighters and 156 Prachand light combat helicopters, which together will be worth around Rs 1.4 lakh crore.

5. The Indian Armed Forces contingent, comprising 81 personnel, departed for Australia to take part in the second edition of Joint Military Exercise AUSTRAHIND-23. 22 Nov to 6th Dec 2023.

It was instituted in 2022, and the first edition was conducted in Mahajan, Rajasthan.
