Some of the world’s best young winter athletes are coming to the Republic of Korea this winter to compete in the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024 (19 January to 1 February 2024). Fans from around the world, who are interested in seeing tomorrow’s stars compete and discovering Korea, can now get their tickets for the first Winter YOG at tickets.gangwon2024.org. Tickets will be free of charge for all events, except the Opening Ceremony in Gangneung.

From 11.11 a.m. KST (3.11 a.m. CET) on 11 November, YOG fans will be able to secure tickets for their favourite winter sports, by visiting tickets.gangwon2024.org.

The Opening Ceremony is set to take place on 19 January 2024 at Gangneung Oval and PyeongChang Dome simultaneously. The full line-up, which will include K-pop rising stars, will be unveiled closer to the ceremony.

Those opting for the live experience of the Opening Ceremony in Gangneung will be able to purchase tickets priced from KRW 30,000 to KRW 100,000 (approximately USD 22 to USD 74), while access to the PyeongChang Dome will be free of charge. Those wishing to attend the PyeongChang Dome will still be required to request a ticket via the online platform or at the box office on the day of the event.

The Opening Ceremony will provide a spectacular curtain-raiser to the YOG, with the athletes of Gangwon 2024 marching into the stadium, and is set to include K-pop acts and the much-anticipated conclusion of the Gangwon 2024 Torch Tour, which will culminate in the lighting of the Youth Olympic cauldron.

The Games will benefit greatly from the legacy of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and will take place in four locations: Gangneung (for ice sports), PyeongChang (for Nordic and sliding disciplines), Jeongseon (for Alpine skiing and dual moguls) and Hoengseong (for the remaining freestyle skiing and snowboard events).

Throughout those locations, the audience will be able to engage in a wide range of sports activities, including ice hockey, skating and curling initiations, as well as experiences such as biathlon, skiing and ski-jumping. Additionally, YOG attendees can enjoy photo sessions, face painting, hands-on crafts and immersive VR experiences.

Tickets to the sporting events in those locations will be free of charge, but should be secured online at the official Gangwon 2024 ticketing website.

Approximately 1,900 athletes from around 81 National Olympic Committees are expected to take part in the YOG, which run from 19 January to 1 February 2024.
