delhi govt extend complete ban on firecrackers till jan 1 2023

The Delhi government on Monday announced to ban the production, storage, sale, and bursting of crackers, ahead of Diwali 2023. Announcing the ban, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that instructions have been issued to the Delhi Police not to allow licences for the same

1. Heavy rainfall predicted over East Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana during next three days.

The 12th annual India-UK Economic Financial Dialogue meeting was held in New Delhi under the joint leadership of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt.

2. Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), a subsidiary of oil-to-telecom conglomerate Reliance Industries, announced on September 11 that global investment firm KKR, through an affiliate, will invest Rs 2,069.50 crore in the company. This investment values RRVL at a pre-money equity value of Rs 8.361 lakh crore.

3. India-Middle East- Europe economic corridor will be more significant than the silk and spice routes of the world, Saudi’s Investment Minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih has said.

4. India on Monday imposed an anti-dumping duty on some Chinese steel for five years.

During April-July, China was the second biggest steel exporter to India, after South Korea, selling 0.6 million metric tons, up 62% from the same period a year earlier.

5. India and Saudi Arabia can look at doubling bilateral trade to $100 billion in the coming years from about $52 billion at present, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said.

1. India will receive the first of its 56 C-295 transport aircraft on Wednesday that will replace the ageing Avro fleet of the Indian Air Force.

(a) According to the Rs 21,000-crore deal with Airbus Defence and Space, which Spain signed in September 2021.

(b) The first 16 aircraft will be delivered in ‘fly-away’ condition from its final assembly line in Seville, Spain. The delivery of the 16 aircraft is to be completed by September 2025.

(c) The remaining 40 aircraft will be manufactured and assembled by Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) in India as part of an industrial partnership between the two companies.

(d) The first India-made aircraft will be delivered in 2026, and the remaining 39 will be delivered by 2031.

2. The Indian Air Force on Monday highlighted that the Exercise Bright Star-23 has moved to its last phase.

(a) According to the Indian Navy, E x Bright Star 23 is scheduled to be conducted in two phases. The Harbour Phase involves wide-ranging activities such as cross-deck visits, professional exchanges, sports fixtures and interactions for planning and conduct of the Sea Phase.

(b) The Sea Phase will include complex and high-intensity exercises encompassing cross-deck flying, anti-surface and anti-air exercises including live weapon firing drills

(c) The last phase will involve assets of all participating forces and followed a build up to more complex joint missions.

(d) The Indian Navy Ship (INS) Sumedha arrived at Port Alexandria, Egypt on September 6 to participate in ‘Exercise Bright Star- 23’. This edition of the multinational Tri-Services military exercise will see participation from 34 countries.

3. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) will construct the world’s highest fighter airfield in the Nyoma region of Ladakh. BRO said that the foundation stone of the project will be laid by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh from Devak Bridge on September 12. BRO chief Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhry.
