🛕 *SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE*

*WHY IS THE CONCH SHELL — SHANKHA — CONSIDERED SACRED?*
The Shankha occupies an important place in Hindu religious traditions and is especially associated with Lord Vishnu.
The blowing of a conch is traditionally associated with auspiciousness and the beginning of worship or important ceremonies. Its sound is regarded in many traditions as a symbol of the removal of negativity and the invocation of divine presence.
The conch is also significant in the broader symbolism of dharma, purity and victory. In the Mahabharata, important warriors are described as possessing distinctive conches; Krishna’s conch is called Panchajanya, while Arjuna’s is called Devadatta.
As with many aspects of Hindu tradition, the exact symbolism and ritual practices associated with the Shankha differ among regional and philosophical traditions.
