1. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Manila on 22 July 2026, reaffirming the strength of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership as the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting reconvened alongside ASEAN-related engagements.
2. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar raised India’s concerns over the safety of Indian seafarers during his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.The discussion took place against the backdrop of the deadly attack on the Guinea‑Bissau‑flagged cargo vessel MV Golden Leo near Ukraine’s port of Odesa, which claimed the lives of four Indian nationals.
3. The first direct commercial freight train from Kolkata Port reached the Nepal Customs Yard in Biratnagar, eastern Nepal, on 20 July 2026. The train carried 40 forty-foot containers of canola grain and was operated by the Container Corporation of India Limited.
4. India and North Macedonia agreed to expand cooperation in trade, technology, tourism, talent and healthcare during President Smt. Droupadi Murmu’s visit to North Macedonia on 21-22 July 2026. The visit was the first bilateral visit by an Indian President to North Macedonia since diplomatic relations were established in 1995.
5. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar yesterday participated in Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting at Manila in Philippines. In a Joint statement, India, Japan, Australia and United States reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen a free and open Indo-Pacific and our unwavering support for ASEAN unity and centrality.

1. On 22 July 2026, the United States approved a 30-year civilian nuclear cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia. The agreement is a bilateral civil nuclear arrangement under Section 123 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, which governs nuclear cooperation between the United States and foreign states.
2. The United States has condemned Iran backed and Yemen based armed group Houthi rebels for threatening commercial shipping in the Red Sea after the group announced a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia.
3. France passed a new law to prohibit the children aged under 15 years from using social media platforms, France has taken a bold step in ensuring the protection of children in the digital age from January 2027.
