1. In China Open Badminton, PV Sindhu, Ayush Shetty and Lakshya Sen have entered Singles pre-quarterfinals in Changzhou.
Double Olympic medalist PV Sindhu advanced to the women’s singles second round after defeating fellow Indian player Unnati Hooda by 21-14, 9-21, 21-10 in a Round of 32 clash. In the Men’s singles, Ayush Shetty defeated world number 11 Alwi Farhan of Indonesia by 21-17, 5-21, 21-17 to reach the Round of 16.
2. Hockey India has announced the 20-member men’s squad for the upcoming FIH World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands to be held from August 15 to 30.
3. In Hockey, the Indian Sub-Junior Men’s and Women’s Teams continued their Elite Pool campaign at the FIH Youth Hockey5s Asian Championship in Muscat, Oman. The men’s team defeated Oman and Pakistan, while the women’s team shared the points with China before overcoming Uzbekistan.
