1. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian Men’s squad for the upcoming upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. The tour will feature three T20 Internationals to be played on 23rd, 25th and 27th of this month. All the matches will be played at Harare.
2. In the FIFA World Cup:
(a) Norway defeated Brazil 2-1 to enter the quarter-finals at New York New Jersey Stadium in the US.
(b) Portugal will take on Spain in a round of 16 match at Arlington in US. In another round of 16 match, co-host USA will face Belgium in Seattle. England, Norway, Morocco and France have already entered the quarter-finals. England stormed into the quarter-finals with a dramatic 3-2 victory over co-host Mexico in the round of 16 match.
3. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has strongly criticised FIFA’s decision to suspend American striker Folarin Balogun’s World Cup red-card ban following a intervention by US President Donald Trump, who urged the organisation to review the case.
American player Balogun received a red card for stepping awkwardly on the right ankle of Tarik Muharemović of Bosnia-Herzegovina in Round of 32 clash, which United States won by 2-0.
