What is Yoga according to Vedic Tradition?

The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit root “Yuj”, meaning “to unite” or “to join.”

According to ancient Indian philosophy, Yoga is the union of body, mind, and soul. The sage Patanjali compiled the Yoga Sutras, which describe the eight limbs of Yoga, including ethical living, physical postures, breath control, concentration, meditation, and self-realization.

Yoga is not merely exercise; it is a complete way of life.
