2. Neeraj Chopra finishes 2nd in Lausanne Diamond League: Chopra threw 88.05 m, finishing just 9 cm behind Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage.
3. India’s Kajal Dhochak has won her second consecutive U20 World Wrestling Championship title. She clinched the women’s 76-kilogram gold medal with a commanding 7-0 victory over China’s Jingru Sun in the final.
4. Shivpal Singh receives 10-year doping ban: The 31-year-old javelin thrower, who represented India at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, was sanctioned by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) Disciplinary Panel after testing positive for the banned anabolic steroid methandienone.
Shivpal Singh’s latest suspension comes after his first doping offence in 2021, when his sample tested positive for a steroid during an out-of-competition test.
