1. In Hockey, India’s men’s and women’s teams have clinched the Junior Asia Cup titles at Moqi in China today. The Indian Men’s team defeated South Korea four-one in the final to successfully defend its title. Ajeet Yadav, Anmol Ekka, Prabhdeep Singh and Ashu Maurya scored for India. With this victory, India secured its sixth title, following earlier triumphs in 2004, 2008, 2015, 2023, and 2024.
The Indian women’s team also emerged victorious, defeating hosts China one-nil in the final. Sanika Chandrakant Mane scored the only goal in the 17th minute to secure the title for India. The victory completed a hat-trick of Junior Asia Cup titles for the Indian women’s team, which had previously won in 2023 and 2024.
2. In Para Badminton, Tokyo Paralympic gold medallist Pramod Bhagat secured gold medal in the men’s singles SL3 category and teamed up with Sukant Kadam to win silver in the men’s doubles SL3-SU5 at the Japan International.
