1. Young cyclist Harshita Jakhar rode into history books by becoming the first Indian woman to be a part of the Tour de France Femmes in Switzerland. The 19-year-old led a pack of eight talented cyclists from Afghanistan, Algeria, Chile, Ethiopia with two riders, Namibia and Uganda during the ceremonial start at Stage 2 of the gruelling race yesterday. The event started on 1st of this month in Lausanne and will end on 9th August in Nice.
2. The FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 is going to mesmerize hockey lovers around the world as the tournament is back with a modified, new format with world-class teams and simultaneous men’s and women’s competitions. The tournament is going to be co-hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands between 15 August to 30 August 2026.
