IPL 2021 DC vs MI: DC defeats MI by 6 wickets

Delhi Capitals (DC) added another win in the 2021 season after beating the Mumbai Indians (MI) by six wickets in Match 13 of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at the M. A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday.

DC chased the target of 138 with strong Dhawan and Amit Mishra determination. Amit took four wickets and Shikhar Dhawan put his strongest foot forward against MI from the start.

Second over saw first of DC to head back to the stand, Prithvi Shaw at the delivery of Jayant Yadav.

Dhawan continued the rein in a strong partnership with Steve Smith. The duos played safe and strong and successfully brought up the fifty until the 11^th over, when Smith was caught at Kieron Pollard’s delivery. Smith finished at 33.

Dhawan maintained his pace and scored two fours in the next two overs with Lalit Yadav. Dhawan thrived under MI’s mounting pressure. He continued smashing unapologetically And added a four and six respectively off Rahul Chahar’s delivery. However, Yadav was caught in the deep by Pandya.

Dhawan was joined by DC skipper, Rishabh Pant. He came in for a quick four and was sent back at Bumrah’s slow delivery.

Edging to close with 22 runs in the last three overs, Shimron Hetmyer hit a four. Further, Bumrah overstepping gave away ten runs in the penultimate over.

Hetmyer chased down the total with a crucial four at Pollard’s delivery.

MI changed the line-up and began to go after their bowling, switching Jayant with Adam Milne in the playing XI.

First victory was coined by Marcus Stoinis sending de Kock back to the stand.

The duo, MI skipper and Suryakumar Yadav struck 3 fours and a six at Ashwin’s delivery. And further added 14 runs with Rabada’s bowling. Surya concluded the powerplay for MI with two boundaries off Amit Mishra. However, at 58-run Pant caught Surya at the delivery of Avesh Khan.

MI’s play struggled with Amit Mishra’s bowling. He first knocked out Rohit and Hardik Pandya in his first over at the hands of Smith. Krunal Pandya was next in the 10^th over to head back to the pavilion, followed by Kieron Pollard was caught running for 2.

Till the end of 15 over, MI maintained and brought the pace up to 101-6 with Ishan Kishan and Jayant Yadav. The duo added 39 runs until Mishra interrupted Kishans play.

Next to follow suit was Jayant Yadav at Rabada’s delivery and Avesh Khan gave MI a run for their money by concluded with Chahar’s wicket with a total of 137-9.
