Filmmaker Abhinay Deo has achieved a rare distinction with two of his shows, ‘Brown’ and ‘24’, featuring in IMDb’s list of the 100 Most Popular Hindi TV Shows. While the recently released “Brown” has secured the No. 1 position, “24” the landmark thriller that first aired in India over a decade ago, continues to enjoy enduring popularity, ranking at No. 5.
The achievement underlines Deo’s ability to create stories that resonate with audiences across generations and platforms. While “Brown” has generated significant buzz following its release on Zee5, “24” has found a fresh audience on JioStar.
Long before OTT platforms transformed the entertainment landscape, Deo introduced Indian audiences to the finite-series format with the Indian adaptation of the internationally acclaimed “24” in 2013. Headlined by Anil Kapoor, the thriller raised the bar for long-form storytelling in India and is widely regarded as a pioneer in shaping the country’s premium series culture.
