Body is the Key

Body is the Key

Physical body is the first gift we are blessed with when born on this earth. Mental and psychological bodies eventually grow and develop. It is the physical body we are first aware of.
It is where spirituality begins.

Without a body, it is not possible to have definite shape or form and it would be difficult to hold space. Our human body is the most advanced computer where more than 90% of the task happens automatically without any command or code from our side.

Like we breathe 15 breaths per minute, we transform the food we eat into our body.
But as per Issac Newton’s third law of motion, “that for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction.”

Then, how can we justify the various biological functions happening inside us without our awareness? Is it magical? Is it God or science?

But the simple answer to this whole complicated question is that there is an intelligence working within us, the very source of creation. Life is different from the source of life. Source of life is a sophisticated system installed in us.

Body and life ends when we die. But this source of life is immortal, it continues and carries on with us from one life to another. This dimension truly makes us who we are.

Right now we are torn between the two forces that are operating within us: one is the animalistic instinct of self preservation and the other is the constant desire to be boundless. But as we start becoming more aware we realize these are not two opposing forces rather they are related to different aspects of the same life and help life to evolve in a better fashion.

There is no such thing as “material-versus-spirituality”. Spirituality means the dimension beyond physical. The human urge to transcend and explore the dimension beyond is completely natural.

And the biological instincts of preservation help us to survive longer, happier, and healthier on this earth.

What we have to do now is to consciously touch the source of intelligence instead of compulsively falling into the old patterns of unawareness. We have to consciously call on to grace like we accept gravity. We have to make ourselves available for grace. People who have not yet been initiated to the spiritual path might think we are magical, but in reality we are just being more receptive to a new dimension of life.

Sadhana:

Sit in front of a tree or plant. Then, try to notice what it is exhaling, you are inhaling. What you are exhaling, it is inhaling. Even if you can not experimentally feel the connection, establish it psychologically. Repeat this experiment a few times a day for 5 mins. Soon, a time will come when you will be able to feel the connection. And you will be able to feel the connection with everyone and everything. It is a wonderful feeling to feel the interconnectedness of the Universe.

Jon Kabat-Zinn said:

“To drop into being means to recognize your interconnectedness with all life, and with being itself. Your very nature is being part of larger and larger spheres of wholeness.”

Once we begin experiencing the interconnectedness, we become wholesome
