SpaceX launches 22 Starlink satellite

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

1. 4th and last ECSWG & Environment and Climate Ministers meeting concludes with significant discussions in Chennai.

Resource Efficiency Circular Economy Industry Coalition (RECEIC) was launched on the sidelines of the 4th G-20 Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group (ECSWG).

2. India and Malaysia discussed wide-ranging issues of mutual interest during the 10th meeting of the Sub Committee on Military Cooperation in New Delhi.

3. Bankrupt airline Go First has cancelled all flights till July 30 due to “operational reasons”.

4. Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi, who is on a two-day visit to India, took a ride on the Delhi Metro on Friday. He took a ride to three to four metro stations, the Japanese deputy press secretary said. He arrived in Delhi on Thursday to strengthen the strategic ties between India and Japan.

5. UK-based women’s group, Women of North East India Support Network (WNESN), held a silent protest march in London over Manipur violence. Protesters wore face masks and carried placards outside the Indian High Commission.

1. SpaceX on Friday launched 22 Starlink internet satellites, marking the company’s 50th mission of this year. A Falcon 9 rocket carrying the satellites launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Base in Florida.

2. Russian President Vladimir Putin praises heroism of Russian soldiers repelling attacks in Zaporizhzhia region. The fighting between Russia and Ukraine intensified in the southeastern part of Ukraine.

3. Greece currently grappling with wildfires; over 40 died. Evacuation orders have been issued for areas close to two central Greek cities threatened by new outbreaks of wildfires.

4. In Pakistan, at least nine people were killed in rain-related incidents in the last 24 hours.

5. Six people killed & 27 injured in explosion near Shiite pilgrimage site at Damascus in Syria on 27 Jul.

6. At least 26 people were killed and 40 rescued after a small boat capsized in a lake near the Philippine capital, July 27.

7. A Niger Military general Abdourahmane Tchiani declares himself leader after President Mohamed Bazoum removed from power in coup in Niger: Tchiani appeared on state television as the country’s new leader following a military coup.

8. Four Pakistani state-owned petroleum companies have signed an MoU with Saudi Arabia to build Pakistan’s largest oil refinery with a $10-billion investment in Gwadar Port.
