1. The Union Cabinet has approved the signing of a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between India and three other countries, (South Africa, Chile and England & Wales) for cooperation
(i) Disability Sector
(ii) Field of Agriculture and Allied sectors.
(iii) Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) collaboration
2. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has hailed the multi-billion-pound deal by Airbus and Rolls-Royce to supply new aircraft to Air India.
3. PM Modi spoke to his Spanish counterpart Mr Pedro Sánchez to discuss ways to further strengthen the growing relationship between both the countries.
4. Bangladesh to support India’s Non-Permanent membership of the UN Security Council for 2028-29; India will also support Bangladesh’s non permanent membership of UNSC.
5. The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued 114 visas to a group of Indian pilgrims for their visit to the sacred Shree Katas Raj Temples, also known as Qila Katas, in the country’s Chakwal district.

1. Recently Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita stepped down from her position on February 10, citing a lack of support in the former Soviet Republic. The pro-Western government had been in power for just 18 months.
2. China warned that it will take countermeasures against U.S. entities as it accused US of abusing the use of force in shooting down a suspected “Chinese spy balloon” off the South Carolina Coast on Feb 4. China initially expressed regrets over the entry of its balloon into U.S. airspace but has now turned to accuse the US of illegally flying balloons in Chinese airspace more than ten times since May last year.
3. The International Monetary Fund(IMF) will meet with creditors of Sri Lanka and other debt troubled nations on Feb 17 to plug gaps in the current debt restructuring framework.
Sri Lanka’s IMF deal of 2.9 billion dollars is yet to be finalised as China is yet to give financing assurances in line with the requirements of the fund. Sri Lanka had defaulted on its external debt of 51 billion dollars in April last year and is in the midst of its worst-ever economic crisis since its independence.
4. Sri Lanka, postal voting for the local government elections are expected to be postponed due to a delay in obtaining the ballot papers.The local government elections are scheduled to be held on 9th of March.
5. Tesla to make some EV chargers available to all. The plan will make at least 7,500 chargers from Tesla’s Supercharger and Destination Charger network available to non-Tesla EVs by the end of 2024.
6. Joe Biden to undergo medical checkup ahead of 2024 presidential bid. The health check-up comes ahead of Joe Biden’s expected bid for reelection in 2024. He is the oldest-ever US president. The report will also be scrutinized closely as the Republican 2024 campaign has already kicked off.
7. U.N. draft resolution calls for ceasefire in Ukraine and peace. The European Union on Wednesday circulated the resolution to be voted on by the U.N. General Assembly on the eve of next week’s first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, calling for a cessation of hostilities and a peace that ensures Ukraine’s “sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity
