1. MIZORAM ASSEMBLY ELECTION’ RESULT
The Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) stormed to power in Mizoram by dethroning the Mizo National Front (MNF) bagging 27 seats in the 40-member House on Monday.
The MNF won 10 seats, BJP (2) and Congress (1).

Lalduhoma is the founder and president of Zoram Nationalist Party, a regional political party in Mizoram. His party joined the coalition party Zoram People’s Movement, in which he was chosen as the first Chief Ministerial candidate in the 2018 Mizoram Legislative Assembly election.
2. Parliament Winter Session 2023 Updates :
(a) The Winter Session of Parliament began yesterday. On the first day of Session, the Parliament passed the Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2023 with Lok Sabha giving assent to it.
The Rajya Sabha had passed the Bill in August this year during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
(b) Rajya Sabha passes Post Office Bill, 2023 to amend 125-year-old Indian Post Office Act.
3. Parliament Floor leaders of I.N.D.I.A bloc parties to hold a meeting today at 10 am in the Rajya Sabha LOP chamber in Parliament.
4. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Telangana as the state is expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on December 5 due to Cyclone Michaung. The weather department has indicated that the state may experience rainfall exceeding 204.4 mm.
5. Union Home minister Amit Shah called up Tamilnadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and enquired about the cyclone Michuang situation.
6. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) continued its poor run in Assembly elections on Sunday, failing to win any of the seats it had contested in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh and securing fewer votes than the NOTA (none of the above) option.

1. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday cancelled the licence of Shankarrao Pujari Nutan Nagari Sahakari Bank Limited, Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur as it does not have adequate capital and earning prospects.
2. Indian refiners, including Reliance Industries, have reinitiated the import of Venezuelan crude oil through intermediaries. 1. Indian Navy Day is celebrated on 04 Dec 2023, to commemorate the success of OPERATION TRIDENT , which took place in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971, simply known as the Bangladesh Liberation War.
(a) The Indian Navy Day program was carried out at the Sindhudurg Fort.
PM Modi is the chief guest on the occasion.
(b) Prime Minister Modi unveiled a 45-foot-high statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (also known as Father of the Indian Navy) at the Rajkot Malvan sea shore of Sindhudurg.
(c) This is the first time when Navy Day celebrations will be held away from any naval station.
(d) PM Modi announced that the ranks of the Navy personnel and officers will be renamed as per the Indian culture.
OPERATION TRIDENT ?
Operation Trident was a successful offensive operation launched by the Indian Navy during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 between December 4 and December 5. During the operation, the Indian Navy sharply attacked the Pakistani court of Karachi, causing severe damage to their naval infrastructure. It was the first time that anti-ship missiles were used in combat between India and Pakistan
2. PM Modi on Monday said the government is committed to increasing the strength of women in the armed forces. He was speaking at the Navy Day event held in coastal Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.
3. Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Limited, achieved yet another milestone on Monday, by delivering the INS Sandhayak, the largest survey vessel ever built in India and the first in the series of four Survey Vessels (Large) being built by it, to the Indian Navy.
4. The Indigenous Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System or ATAGS developed by DRDO is undergoing final trials in the Pokhran Field Firing Ranges after the desired changes have been done in the Gun System to meet the requirements.
5. EASTERN NAVAL COMMAND (ENC) OF THE INDIAN NAVY IS EXPECTED TO ADD 20–25 NEW WARSHIPS BY 2037 : Eastern Naval Command (ENC) Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar has said that a total of 37 projects costing over ₹2,192 crore are under way at Visakhapatnam, which will enhance the capabilities of the naval base.
6. China has released a photo of its J-16 Flanker derivatives tooled up with air-to-air missiles.
The J-16 is a twin-engine, multi-role strike fighter that can operate in all weather conditions. It evolved from the J-11 air superiority fighter and has an added ground attack capability. The J-16 is similar in capabilities to the American F-15E.
7. The Indian Navy has planned to deploy both its aircraft carriers INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant on the eastern seaboard during Milan-2024, a flagship international naval exercise hosted by Vizag from February 19-27 next year.
8. IAF SWISS MADE PILATUS TRAINER AIRCRAFT CRASH : A Pilatus PC-7 MK-II aircraft of the Indian Air Force met with an accident on Monday morning in Telangana’s Medak district which left both the pilots on board dead after they suffered fatal injuries.
The crash took place at around 8:55 am during training at Air Force Academy near Dindigul.
9. A US Navy ship shot down several drones heading in its direction from areas of Yemen controlled by the Houthi militants on Sunday.
