As the deadline for filing Income Tax Returns (ITR) has arrived, the department stated that more than 6 crore tax returns have been filed for income earned in the 2022-23 fiscal year as of Sunday evening.

The message wrongly claimed that third tick on WhatsApp will show if the government is going to take action against users. “This message is fake. The government has released no such guideline,” the government clarified.
