10. BJP MP from Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar and former Union minister V Sreenivasa Prasad passed away on Monday. He was 76. He was undergoing a treatment in Bengaluru. He was a six-time MP from Chamarajanagar and two-time MLA from Nanjangud in Mysuru district.

1. The Uttarakhand licencing authority on Monday suspended licences of 14 Patanjali products with immediate effect in connection with the misleading advertisements case.

The Supreme Court on Monday restrained the Central Bureau of Investigation from taking any “precipitative action” against the officials of West Bengal government in the case pertaining to alleged illegal recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff by the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC).
3. The Delhi police has asked Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy to join its probe on May 1 over the doctored video of Union home minister Amit Shah being circulated on the social media . According to sources, the police has also issued notices to the Telangana Congress and summoned five members of the state unit, including its chief, who posted the video on X.

1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued comprehensive guidelines outlining the voluntary transition path for Small Finance Banks (SFBs) seeking to become Universal Banks.

1. Royal Netherlands Navy Ship HNLMS Tromp engaged in a Maritime Partnership Exercise with the Indian Navy’s guided missile frigate INS Trishul , Ministry of Defence said. Rear Adm Harold Liebregs, Deputy Commander of the Royal Netherlands Navy recently embarked on an official visit to Mumbai from April 23 to 28.
2. The Indian Defence Ministry announced the successful test firing of the country’s New Generation Ballistic Missile Agni-Prime recently from the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, off the Odisha coast . This test was carried out at 7 pm Indian Standard Time on Wednesday (Apr 3).
This launch was executed by the Defence Research and Development Organization and the Strategic Forces Command (SFC), which comprises personnel from the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The SFC is incharge of handling the country’s nuclear arsenal, while the DRDO is responsible for developing weapons systems and related military technologies.
3. Specialist teams of the Indian Navy deployed on board warship INS Kochi have inspected crude oil tanker MV Andromeda Star at sea for any damage and safety of its 30 crew, including 22 Indian nationals. An explosive ordnance disposal team was deployed on board Andromeda for residual risk assessment. The crew are safe and the vessel is continuing its scheduled transit to the Indian port.
The Panama-flagged tanker was hit by Yemen-based Houthi rebels as it was transiting the Red Sea en route to Vadinar in India from Russia’s Primorsk.
