🇮🇳 India’s defence self-reliance: PM Modi highlighted the successful maiden flight of the Made-in-India C-295 military transport aircraft, noting that 40 aircraft are being manufactured in India. He also praised the successful test of the indigenous Long-Range Land Attack Cruise Missile, calling it a major step toward self-reliance in defence.

5. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched the pilot project of PM Family Care Tracker at Gandhinagar in Gujarat. The integrated digital platform will track the health, nutrition and education of beneficiaries from pregnancy until the age of 18 using a unique ID linked to Birth Registration Number or ABHA ID.

6. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged the Central Government to extend financial assistance to Totapuri mango farmers facing a sharp decline in market prices. In a letter to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Mr Naidu sought 281 crore rupees under the Price Deficiency Payment Scheme (PDPS) to help farmers tide over the ongoing crisis.

7. Nagaland observed National Immunization Day yesterday as part of the nationwide campaign to protect children against polio and sustain India’s polio-free status.

8. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar yesterday arrived in Srinagar on a three-day official visit to Jammu and Kashmir. During his stay, the Chief Election Commissioner will take part in various programmes across the Kashmir Valley, aimed at engaging with voters and electoral stakeholders and review grassroots-level electoral initiatives.

9. The BJP government in West Bengal is expected to table the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill in the state Assembly on 29 June 2026 today during the ongoing Budget Session.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a release that conditions are favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon into some more parts of the North Arabian Sea and some areas of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, among other States, during the next two to three days. According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, Delhi is likely to see the arrival of monsoon on July 4 if conditions remain favourable.

1. A sessions court in Bhiwandi has remanded the three accused arrested in Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak case to police custody till July 6. Investigators suspect the involvement of an inter-state examination racket, Investigators had sought ten days of police custody to trace the source of the leaked paper, examine financial transactions, find out whether the paper was sold elsewhere in Maharashtra, and identify other members of the racket.

2. Ayodhya lawyers are contemplating a collective refusal to defend those accused of embezzling Ram temple donations.
The Faizabad Bar Association will hold a general body meeting to finalise the decision regarding legal representation. Police recently conducted raids at the residences of all eight accused, who are currently in judicial custody.

3. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has confirmed that all Sikh MLAs and cabinet ministers will appear before the Akal Takht on June 29 to address concerns regarding the controversial anti-sacrilege law, highlighting a significant development in Punjab’s political and religious landscape.

1. PM Modi on Sunday highlighted several milestones achieved by the country to become self-reliant as he cited the maiden flight of the made-in-India C-295 aircraft and the successful test of the indigenous Long-Range Land-Attack Cruise Missile.

In his monthly radio broadcast ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Modi noted that in June itself, the country has achieved a major success in the aviation sector.

2. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is pushing for unprecedented domestic manufacturing in its latest fighter jet acquisition.

Under the Medium Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) framework, New Delhi is pursuing a Government-to-Government (G2G) agreement with France to procure 96 Rafale F4 jets, mandating that up to 60 percent of the aircraft’s components be manufactured within India.

3. Israeli defence giant Rafael Advanced Defence Systems is actively negotiating with multiple private-sector defence firms in India to set up domestic production facilities for the Iron Dome air defence system and its Tamir interceptor missiles.

4. PM Modi on Saturday handed over ‘Made in India’ Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) PS LESPWAR, six ambulances, 10 utility vehicles and five laser radial boats to strengthen Seychelles’ maritime surveillance and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) priorities.

The handing-over ceremony took place in the presence of Seychelles President Patrick Herminie at the Seychelles Coast Guard Base in Victoria, during the first day of PM Modi’s State Visit to the archipelagic island.

5. India has quietly inducted the Russian-made Nebo-UM VHF-band radar into its air defence network, a system capable of detecting stealth aircraft and missiles at ranges up to 600 kilometres. Despite no official announcement of contracts or costs, its presence in Indian Air Force exercises confirms operational deployment, significantly strengthening India’s early warning capability against advanced aerial threats.
