11. Telangana issued G.O.Ms. No. 172 on 25 July 2026 to create a statewide electronic Family Register and to introduce the Family Register Certificate as a citizen service on the MeeSeva platform. The register will use data mainly from the Food Security Card database maintained by the Civil Supplies Department. Each family unit will receive a Family Register Identification Number, and this number will be the same as the ration card number.

2. The e-Zero FIR system has been introduced by the Gujarat Government to facilitate cyber financial fraud complaints without the need for the victims to visit a police station.
3. A video circulating on social media shows students at Sarvodaya Inter College in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur staging a campus protest over the lack of basic facilities, forcing the school administration to issue a written assurance that their demands would be addressed.
The students alleged that the school charged extra money for mark sheets and other documents while failing to provide clean drinking water, adequate fans and a proper electricity supply.
4. NCP SP leader Sharad Pawar on Tuesday (July 28, 2026) put an end to speculations about the likely merger between the Nationalist Congress Party and the Nationalist Congress Party Sharadchandra Pawar group.

Apollo Micro Systems has been shortlisted by the Indian Air Force to develop the Indigenous Precision Range Extension Kit, known as IPREK.This marks a significant milestone for the Hyderabad‑based defence manufacturer, which has steadily expanded its footprint in India’s indigenous defence ecosystem.
3. TATA Power has confirmed that India’s first privately developed nuclear power plant could be commissioned by 2032–33, with construction expected to begin in 2028 once the government finalises the regulatory framework.
4. In Jharkhand, security forces have achieved a major breakthrough in anti-Naxal operations. Top Maoist leader and Politburo member Misir Besra, carrying a bounty of one crore rupees, has been arrested from the Dhanbad-Giridih border.
Regional Committee Member Mehnat alias Mochhu, carrying a reward of 15 lakh rupees, Maoist cadre Gaurav and two villagers were also apprehended during the joint operation. The operation was carried out by the CoBRA, CRPF and Jharkhand Police based on specific intelligence inputs.

1. Ramayana trailer to release in Brahma Muhurat on this day: The makers of Ramayana have announced a fresh release date for the film’s much-awaited trailer after postponing its earlier launch. The trailer will now debut worldwide on July 30 at 4:15 am IST. The trailer was earlier scheduled to premiere on July 24.
2. Actor turned politican Tamilnadu CM Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ movie faces legal challenge: Madras High Court seeks response over plea against controversial scenes.
The case was filed as a public interest litigation by Chinnasamy, a resident of Usilampatti in Madurai district. The petition has alleged that some scenes in the film ‘Jana Nayagan’ have defamed the people of Pappapatti village. The petitioner submitted that the court may direct the authorities to re-examine the censor certificate of the film, to delete the objectionable scenes and to temporarily stop the screening of the film in theatres till the matter is examined.
