1. The 42nd India International Trade Fair concluded in New Delhi yesterday. Over 10 lakh domestic and foreign visitors and businesspersons participated in this 14-day fair. The theme of the fair this year was based on Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

1. Automakers Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra and Audi India on Monday announced plans to hike prices of their passenger vehicles in January 2024 citing reasons, including cost pressure driven by overall inflation and increased commodity rates.

2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) slapped penalties totalling ₹71.4 crore in 56 cases in the year so far as it enhanced scrutiny of banks, non-banks and other regulated entities.

Some of the prominent lenders penalized this year include ICICI Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), Paytm Payments Bank, Bajaj Finance, Citibank and Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services.

3. Along with the government, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) will also divest its stake in IDBI Bank but may not exit completely, LIC Chairman Siddhartha Mohanty said.

4. Indian Railways has achieved another milestone by registering the highest ever freight loading in history. This is one of the biggest achievements of the national transporter since independence. In the FY 2022-23, it recorded freight loading of 1512 Metric Tonnes (MT).

5. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the country’s oldest and largest industry body, is set to welcome Anish Shah as its President-Elect.

1. Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones is in India with her husband, Michael Douglas, to attend the prestigious International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Douglas will be honoured with the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award on Tuesday (Nov 28).
