2. Andhra Pradesh has directed the implementation of a “Farm to Home” model for direct delivery of agricultural produce from farmers to consumers. The model covers fruits and vegetables and uses Farmers Producer Organisations for marketing, logistics, and doorstep supply.
3. The Assam Assembly passed the Uniform Civil Code Bill by voice vote on 27 May 2026. The Bill was introduced in the state assembly on 25 May 2026 and was moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Atul Bora on behalf of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
4. West Bengal has launched the Annapurna Yojana, a cash assistance scheme for women, with effect from 1 June 2026. The scheme provides ₹3,000 per month to eligible women through Direct Benefit Transfer into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
5. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has introduced 11 new academic programmes across Diploma, DNB, FNB and DrNB disciplines, including oncology, pulmonology, trauma care, surgery, immunology and nuclear medicine.
6. The Union Minister for the Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, together with the Chief Minister of Tripura, today launched the “Mission Queen Pineapple”, a ₹236 crore convergence-led initiative for pineapple cultivation and value chain development in the State of Tripura.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the continuation of the scheme to modernise the public distribution system (PDS) including ration transport, dealer support and technology upgrades, till March 2031. The umbrella scheme called ‘Scheme for Assistance in Ration Transport and Handling-Income with Automation in PDS’ (SARTHAK PDS) has been cleared in the 16th Finance Commission cycle award period.
10. Khajuraho’s UNESCO World Heritage temples will host Yoga Mahotsav 2026, marking the 25-day countdown to International Day of Yoga. The event highlights India’s cultural heritage, wellness diplomacy, and the nationwide push to expand yoga participation ahead of IDY 2026.
11. The theme of International Day of Yoga 2026 to be observed on 21st of next month will be Yoga for Healthy Aging. Union Minister of State for Ayush (Independent Charge), Mr. Prataprao Jadhav said this while attending the “Yoga Mahotsav – 25-Day Countdown to International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026” in Khajuraho.

1. The Supreme Court of India upheld the retrospective levy of 28% Goods and Services Tax on online gaming companies on 27 May 2026.
2. In Keralam, five people were arrested after alleged attacks on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials during protests by workers of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPM in Thiruvananthapuram.
3. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out search operations at five locations across Chennai and Madurai in connection with a major drug smuggling syndicate with international links. The investigation was conducted under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), following money laundering investigations initiated on the basis of two criminal complaints filed by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) against accused John Britto and others.
4. The Supreme Court upheld the legality of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls being conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The Court held that the Election Commission has the power to conduct SIR under Article 324 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, and the Rules made thereunder.
5. The Allahabad high court has provided relief to Wipro Chairman Azim Premji by quashing criminal proceedings against him in a labour law violation case, citing a lack of direct involvement.
6. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday rejected Rahul Gandhi’s allegation that it had awarded a contract to Coempt Edutech, saying the claim was “erroneous, misleading and not based on facts.”
7. The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of four High Court Chief Justices and one Senior Advocate as judges of the top court.
