3. Justice Uday Umesh Lalit sworn-in as Chief Justice of India. President Draupadi Murmu administered him oath as the 49th Chief Justice of India at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Justice UU Lalit will be in office for 74 days till 8th November, 2022 . Justice U U Lalit has succeeded Justice NV Ramana.

4. PM Modi will share his thoughts with the people of the country and abroad in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on All India Radio @ 11 am . It will be the 92nd episode of the monthly radio programme.

5. GUJARAT PM Modi to inaugurate pedestrian-only ‘Atal Bridge’ on Sabarmati river.

6. The Gujarat Congress unit on Saturday promised free medical treatment of up to ₹10 lakh in government and approved private hospitals in its healthcare manifesto ahead of state elections. Titled ‘Jan Arogya Sankalp Patra’.

7. KARNATAKA : India’s first 3D-printed post office is slated to come up in Bengaluru, Karnataka and will cost around one-fourth of the amount spent on a traditional building. The new post office building in Cambridge Layout in Halasuru, Bengaluru will be built using 3D printing and is likely to be completed within the next month. The Post Office building is being constructed by Larsen & Toubro.

8. MANIPUR : The 50th All Manipur Shumang Leela Festival 2021-2022 kicked off at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen at Palace Compound in Imphal.

9. MAHARASHTRA : Historical Marabat procession begins in Nagpur.

As a symbolic voice of the masses against the British rule, Tarhane Teli community in Nagpur is celebrating the Marbat festival since 1885 and drawing attention to the evil customs and socio-political issues of the society through different effigies .These effigies are burnt after procession to mark the victory of good over bad.

10. MEGHALAYA CM Conrad Sangma on Saturday said the National People’s Party (NPP) will not form an alliance with any party for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. Sangma added that the party would also contest the upcoming Assembly polls in Odisha and Chhattisgarh on its own. Elections in Meghalaya are likely to be held early next year.

11. NAGALAND : North-east state, Nagaland got its second railway station after a gap of more than 119 years with the commissioning of a new facility at Shokhuvi. Dimapur Railway Station, in the heart of the commercial hub of the state, was inaugurated in 1903.

12. UTTAR PRADESH : A tractor-trolley carrying 24 farmers fell into a river in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district on Saturday morning. 14 people rescued, while six are still missing.

1. BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s family members met Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar at his residence on Saturday. Rupesh, Sonali Phogat’s sister, said that CM Khattar assured them that there will be a CBI probe into Sonali’s death case.

2. A day after security camera footage showed Sonali Phogat struggling to walk out of a nightclub in Goa, hours before her death, a new clip has emerged that shows her being forced to drink on the dance floor. The man in the video appears to be Sudhir Sangwan, one of her two associates named as accused in her murder case.

1. FM Nirmala Sitharaman says Indian Economy will grow at 7.4% this fiscal and next year.

2. HDFC Bank and Tata Neu announced their collaboration to introduce co-branded credit cards. Both the RuPay and Visa networks will support card’s two variations.

3. BOB Finance launched a Yoddha co-branded RuPay credit card for Indian Army troops by Bank of Baroda-backed BOB Financial Solutions in collaboration with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). The new co-branded credit card will be made available on the RuPay platform and have contactless characteristics.

4. Bank credit growth increased from 6% in the quarter that ended in June 2021 to 14.2% in the quarter that concluded in June 2022 as per the data released by RBI (RBI Report).

5. HDFC Bank inaugurated an all-women branch in Kozhikode, north Kerala. Mayor of the city Corporation Beena Philip opened the branch of HDFC Bank. As of March 31, 2022, women made up 21.7% (21,486) of the workforce, according to the bank. By 2025, the private lender wants to raise it to 25%.

6. The RBI said the licence of Deccan Urban Co-operative Bank, Karnataka, has been cancelled as the lender does not have adequate capital and earning prospects. As per the data submitted by the bank, more than 99 per cent of the depositors are entitled to receive the full amount of their deposits from Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC),

DEFENCE

1. Indian Naval Ship, INS Sumedha on Saturday visited Port Klang of Malaysia. The ship is on her return passage from Perth, Australia where she participated in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

The Ministry of Defence in a statement said that INS Sumedha’s visit to Port Klang is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, enhancing maritime cooperation and inter-operability between Indian and Royal Malaysian Navies.

2. Indian Navy received the first-ever completely made-in-India 30mm ammunition. The ammunition will be used in AK-630 guns, which is fitted on warships. This is a major achievement for the country that private industry has developed fully indigenous ammunition.

3. The Taurus Sainik Aramgrah was inaugurated by Lt Gen Nav K Khanduri, AVSM, VSM, GOC-in-C, Western Command at Delhi Cantt. The Taurus Sainik Aramgrah is the first of its kind project which is constructed by the collaboration of the Indian Army and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
