1. Highlights from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 127th Mann Ki Baat episode address on 26 October 2025
(a) PM Modi spoke about the Mahaparva of Chhath, calling it a reflection of India’s deep cultural, natural, and social unity.
(b) There was a special mention of the GST Bachat Utsav (festival of savings), with a notable increase in the purchase of indigenous products during the festival season.
(c) PM Modi recalled his earlier appeal to reduce edible oil consumption by 10%, stating it has received a positive response.
(d) PM Modi noted that Operation Sindoor has filled every Indian with pride. He said that this time, lamps of joy were lit even in those areas which were once affected by Maoist terror.

(f) Mr Modi spoke about Kapil Sharma of Bengaluru who has started a campaign to give a new life to lakes in the city Mr Sharma’s team has rejuvenated 40 wells and six lakes in Bengaluru and surrounding areas.

7. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025 in Mumbai today. The five-day event, being organised by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in partnership with the Indian Ports Association, will showcase India’s vision for sustainable maritime growth, trade expansion, and blue economy development.
8. Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar 2025 were announced yesterday. Prof. Jayant Vishnu Narlikar will be given the Vigyan Ratna award posthumously. Eight scientists have been selected for the Vigyan Shree award. Under the Vigyan Yuva category, 14 young scientists have been selected across various disciplines, while the Vigyan Team award is being given to Team Aroma Mission CSIR for its contributions in Agricultural Science.

The Ministry of Mines has officially recognised the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and the Centre for Materials For Electronics Technology (C-MET), Hyderabad, as Centres of Excellence (CoEs) under the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM). The announcement was approved by the Project Approval and Advisory Committee (PAAC) on 24 October 2025.

Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that Ramanathpuram, Sivaganga, Thoothukudi and Virudhunagar districts are included under the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana. Interacting with farmers at Vellore, he said that under the project, 36 schemes are being integrated to deliver comprehensive benefits to farmers. He reviewed the progress of scheme convergence with heads of the four participating Krishi Vigyan Kendras.

Thamma box office collection day 6: Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films has expanded its popular horror-comedy universe with Thamma, featuring cast including Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. 1. Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi flagged off the Shaurya Veer – Run for India 2025 in New Delhi yesterday to commemorate the 79th Shaurya Diwas. Over 10,000 runners, including Army officers, soldiers, professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and citizens from diverse backgrounds, participated in the event.
2. Shaurya Diwas is observed annually on 27th October to honour the bravery and indomitable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces. On this day in 1947, infantrymen became the first from the Indian Army to land in Srinagar and help evict invaders from the outskirts of the city, thus saving Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistani invasion.
3. The Indian Air Force (IAF) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) have successfully demonstrated advanced Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) capabilities in a pioneering maritime strike exercise off the Konkan coast. A piloted TEJAS was networked with two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), validating command and control handoffs, sensor fusion, and precision strikes.
4. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is preparing to launch the CMS-03 military communication satellite, also known as GSAT-7R, on 2 November 2025 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
5. Pakistan has imposed airspace restrictions across several central and southern flight corridors just days before India launches its tri-services military drill, ‘Exercise Trishul’, near the Sir Creek border.

A 46-member delegation from Japan’s Command and Staff College paid a visit to INS Hansa on 24 October 2025, marking a continuing effort to bolster international naval cooperation and exchange professional expertise.The visit underscored the growing strategic and operational synergy between the Indian Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF).
7. Indian Air Force personnel have departed for Russia to undergo specialised training on the S-400 Triumf air defence system. This deployment precedes the scheduled delivery of India’s fourth S-400 squadron in 2026. The training mission coincides with ongoing negotiations between New Delhi and Moscow for five additional S-400 systems.
8. The Indian Army has approved the induction of a cutting-edge Ground-Based Mobile Electronic Intelligence System (GBMES) valued at over ₹1,000 crore.
