1. National Science Centre, Delhi unveiled its newly developed Prehistoric Life Gallery in the national capital. 15. Bihar has stepped up flood preparedness following flash floods in Nepal and the possibility of a sudden rise in the water level of the Gandak River. Six districts of the state – West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Saran, Muzaffarpur and Vaishali – have been placed under heightened vigilance along the Gandak river system.
16. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and North Eastern parts of India during the next two days.

1. The Mumbai Police have arrested six persons, including three officials of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC), in connection with the alleged paper leak in the MPSC Drug Inspector examination.
2. Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has urged citizens to immediately contact the cyber helpline 1930 if they fall victim to cyber fraud, including scams involving so-called ‘Digital Arrests’.
3. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has urged people to remain vigilant amid a seasonal rise in Influenza A (H1N1) cases, saying that the majority of infections are mild and self-limiting and there is no cause for panic. The IMA has advised people not to take antibiotics over the counter for flu symptoms, stressing that H1N1 is a viral infection and antibiotics do not kill viruses.

1. A private electric bus collided with a truck near Kodad in Suryapet district, Telangana, on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway early Wednesday morning.
6 people died, including 5 women.
17–20 people were injured, with some reported to be seriously injured.
The bus was travelling from Hyderabad towards Eluru/Vijayawada.
Police said the truck, carrying large iron pillars, had lost control and struck the road divider before the bus collided with it.
2. More than 100 Indians are among nearly 500 people reported missing in Nepal after flash floods in the Bhote Koshi River hit the Rasuwa region near the Tibet border.

1. The Indian Navy’s sail training ship INS Sudarshini concluded her three-day port call at Lisbon, Portugal, as part of her ongoing Lokayan 26 transoceanic expedition. Defence Ministry said that the engagements reinforced the institutional ties and mutual understanding between the two navies.
2. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully tested its Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS) at one of the world’s highest-altitude drop zones in Ladakh.
3. The Indian Navy is set to commission Nipun, the second Diving Support Vessel (DSV) of the Nistar-class, on 31 Aug 2026 at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. The induction of the specialised vessel will mark an important addition to the Navy’s deep-sea diving and underwater support capabilities and herald the beginning of a new chapter in the ship’s journey from construction to operational service.
4. Operation Safed Sagar
Operation Safed Sagar was the codename given to the Indian Air Force (IAF) air campaign during the 1999 Kargil War. It began on 26 May 1999 in support of the Indian Army’s Operation Vijay.
“Operation Safed Sagar” is also the name of a Netflix war series depicting the IAF’s role in the Kargil War. Recent coverage says the creators worked with former IAF personnel to make the aerial operations more authentic.
5. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said the Patradevi Martyrs’ Memorial symbolises the national unity, courage and sacrifice that contributed to Goa’s liberation.
