1. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, conducts door-to-door screening for TB in over 68,000 villages under Aashwasan campaign.
2. University Grant Commission, UGC has declared twenty-one universities as fake. In a letter, UGC said that 21 institutions are functioning in self-styled manner across the country, which are not recognized by the commission.

1. Several mediators and arbitrators have urged the central government for a probe into the “illegal acts” of Chief Justice of India (CJI) N. V. Ramana for his alleged role in the setting up of the Hyderabad-based International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC).
CJI Ramana had inaugurated the IAMC in December last year in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekar Rao at Nanakramguda on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Friday reserved its order on the anticipatory bail plea moved by MLA Abbas Ansari, mafia-turned politician Mukhtar Ansari’s son, in connection with an arms licence case. Abbas has been accused of obtaining a gun licence from Lucknow and getting it transferred to Delhi where he purchased many arms using the changed address.

1. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met Deputy Treasury Secretary USA Wally Adeyemo in New Delhi. The two sides exchanged views on global economic and financial sector issues.
2. ICICI Bank, has increased its interest rates on fixed deposits of more than ₹2 Cr to ₹5 Cr. The new rates are in effect as of August 26, 2022, according to the bank’s official website, the bank will provide an interest rate on fixed deposits with maturities ranging from 7 days to 10 years ranging from 3.50% to 5.90%.
Fixed deposits maturing in 46 days to 60 days will now offer an interest rate of 4.00% and term deposits maturing in 61 days to 90 days will now offer an interest rate of 4.75%.
