5. Indian Railways launched an AI-based stain detection pilot project on 24 July 2026 at mechanised laundries to inspect washed linen. The pilot is being implemented in the Pune Division of Central Railway and the Jaipur and Jodhpur divisions of North Western Railway.
6. Weaves of India Festival is being held from 24 July to 7 August 2026 in New Delhi. The festival is organised by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms) under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, at the Central Cottage Industries Emporium on Janpath.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav has said that the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has identified 15.22 lakh deceased electors, 14.43 lakh electors who have permanently shifted to other constituencies, and 7.37 lakh electors with duplicate enrolments.

Ministry of Women and Child Development has approved the upgradation of two lakh Anganwadi Centres across India into Saksham Anganwadis for improved nutrition and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) activities. The upgradation is part of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, which combines Anganwadi services, Poshan Abhiyaan, and the Scheme for Adolescent Girls.
9. India’s first hydrogen train began service between Jind and Sonipat. This indigenous train has traveled over 1200 kilometers, saving significant diesel fuel. The train generates electricity through a clean chemical reaction, emitting only water vapor. Multiple safety systems ensure secure operation, and trials on the Delhi route will commence soon. This initiative marks a milestone in India’s commitment to sustainable transportation.

15. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red color warning for extremely heavy rainfall over Madhya Maharashtra and Odisha. Heavy to very heavy rainfall conditions are also likely to prevail over Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa during the next two days. The Weather Department said, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan and parts of North East India are expected to witness heavy rainfall conditions today.

2. The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Friday announced that it has provisionally attached movable and immovable assets worth approximately ₹1,906 crore belonging to Gameskraft Technologies Pvt. Ltd., its shareholders, and associated entities in connection with a money-laundering case.
3. A Delhi court on Friday (July 24) denied bail toe paediatrician Manoj Shirur, one of the accused in the 2026 NEET-UG paper leak case, noting that the leak had caused “disrepute to the nation”.
4. The Telangana government has sought land or financial assistance from the Centre in return for the 400 acres it has allotted at Bahadurguda in Shamshabad for the proposed bullet train hub for three high-speed rail corridors connecting Hyderabad with Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai.
5. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday (July 24, 2026) conducted raids in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab as part of a money-laundering investigation into a ₹450-crore bank loan fraud case. The action was conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
6. The main accused in the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak case, Bijendra Kumar Gupta, and his associate, Indrajeet Vinaykumar Singh, have been remanded to police custody till July 30 by a Bhiwandi court.
