1. The World-famous Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra was celebrated with immense spiritual fervour in the holy city of Puri in Odisha yesterday.
2. The Union Government informed Parliament that more than 66.71 per cent of rural households in Jammu district have been provided tap water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), with over 0.77 lakh new connections added since the launch of the scheme in August 2019.
3. Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned till Monday following ruckus for the 5th consecutive day yesterday over the issues of NEET paper leak and Student protest.

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a Selection Committee to recommend appointments to the Jammu and Kashmir Mental Health Authority in accordance with the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Mental Healthcare (Mental Health Authority) Rules, 2023. The committee has been constituted under Rule 5 of the Mental Healthcare Rules, 2023, to oversee the selection process for members of the Mental Health Authority.
7. Karnataka has planned a 200-acre Semiconductor Park at KWIN City near Bengaluru, with operationalisation targeted for December 2026. The park is part of the Knowledge, Wellbeing and Innovation City project and is designed for chip manufacturing, packaging, testing, and electronics production.
8. The Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Department has said that the El Nino effect has led to a sharp decline in rainfall across the state, resulting in significantly reduced inflows into the Krishna River.
9. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the 3rd and 4th rail Line of Ballari – Guntakal section in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh with a total cost of one thousand 264 crore rupees. It will increase the existing network of Indian Railways by about 46 kilometres
10. The Jammu and Kashmir Government is in the process of formulating an Eco-Tourism Policy, which is expected to be finalised and notified within six months.
11. Union Cabinet approved the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana Rasayan (BHAVYA Rasayan) scheme on 24 July 2026. The scheme provides ₹3,030 crore for three dedicated chemical parks in India and will run from Financial Year 2026-27 to FY 2030-31.

BHAVYA stands for Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana Rasayan. The scheme is designed for the chemical sector and covers common infrastructure facilities, basic utilities, and administrative expenditure.
12. Union Minister Ravneet Singh has resigned. President Droupadi Murmu has accepted his resignation with immediate effect. He was serving as Minister of State for Railway and Food Processing Industries.
13. India will host the International Type 1 Diabetes Summit 2026 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, from 30 July to 1 August 2026. The summit was officially unveiled at a national curtain-raiser event in New Delhi on 23 July 2026.
14. The Central Government appointed Naresh Pal Gangwar, an IAS officer from the Rajasthan cadre of the 1994 batch, as the new Secretary of the Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education.
15. Heavy rains continue to lash several parts of Gujarat, disrupting normal life across multiple districts. Yesterday, the North Gujarat region received a heavy downpour, with Radhanpur in Patan district recording over nine inches of rainfall and Santalpur witnessing nearly nine inches.

1. The Union Cabinet approved a draft Bill to set up fast-track courts and to ensure stricter punishment in cases of paper leaks and exam malpractices. The Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Parliament House complex approved the draft bill.
2. Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that the opposition will not participate in any discussion on the NEET paper leak issue until the Education Minister is removed from his post.
3. The Supreme Court directed the Centre and the National Testing Agency (NTA) to file detailed affidavits on the progress made in implementing reforms after the NEET-UG paper leak. A bench of Justice P.S. Narasimha and Justice Alok Aradhe, while hearing the NEET paper leak case, said the affidavit must explain the steps taken to institutionalise the reforms instead of relying on ad hoc measures.
4. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Enforcement Officer of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) District Office in Patiala in a bribery case.

1. Thirteen people were killed after a vehicle was crushed by a massive boulder that fell from a hillside near Kadunala on the Udaipur-Killar road in Himachal Pradesh’s tribal district of Lahaul-Spiti this afternoon.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the 250-kms long strategic Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44), the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with the rest of the country remained closed for the third consecutive day today following multiple landslides, shooting stones and road erosion triggered by incessant rain.
