Andhra Pradesh’s flagship mass yoga initiative, Yogandhra 2026, has received international recognition from the World Book of Records for its large-scale public participation and successful promotion of yoga across the state. The state had set a target of involving 1.05 crore yoga enthusiasts under Yogandhra 2026, but participation surpassed expectations, with more than 1.07 crore people registering, marking a major milestone.
12. The Aadhaar App has crossed over 31 million downloads since it was launched in January this year. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said. The app also includes features like locking or unlocking in a single click, face verification for proof of presence, authentication history, and a QR-based editable contact card for easy sharing of contacts instead of physical visiting cards.
13. The Ministry of Minority Affairs announced the Haj Policy 2027 on 22 June 2026. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju unveiled the policy, and applications for Haj 2027 from India opened on the same day through the Haj Committee of India portal and the Haj Suvidha App.
14. Indian Railways has approved the deployment of Automatic Train Protection system Kavach on 631 route kilometres of East Coast Railway to enhance safety and operational efficiency. The Railways Ministry said that the project covers six important railway sections of East Coast Railway, including Baghuapal-Budhapank, Haridaspur-Paradeep, Khurda Road-Balangir, Naupada-Gunupur, Lanjigarh Road-Junagarh and Bobbili-Salur.

15 people mostly students aged between 16 and 25 years died in a tragic fire incident in Aliganj area of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. The blaze reportedly erupted inside the institute building and spread rapidly, trapping people inside. It was a shopping complex with coaching, game zone and showrooms in it.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday met Director General of Israel Ministry of Defence, Retired Major General Amir Baram in New Delhi.
2. In Jammu and Kashmir the Army has developed a beautiful park in Banat Dokri village of Poonch district, providing a recreational space for children and a scenic destination for visitors. This park situated at an altitude of approximately 2 thousand 500 metres in Poonch district.

In a proud achievement for the Indian Army and the nation, Subedar Dhiraj Bommadevara of the 116 Engineer Regiment delivered an outstanding performance at the 5th CISM World Military Archery Championship 2026, held in Warendorf, Germany, from 17 to 24 June 2026. Competing against some of the finest military archers from 19 nations, the accomplished archer showcased exceptional skill and wins gold. He further added to the country’s medal tally by securing the Bronze Medal in the Team Event.
4. India and the United Arab Emirates are in early-stage discussions on the possible sale of Indian defence systems, including the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile and the Akashteer air defence control system. BrahMos is a joint project of India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya, while Akashteer is an automated air defence system developed in India.
5. Gujarat announced a 20% reservation for former Agniveers in direct recruitment to Class III posts in state government departments on 22 June 2026. The policy covers posts in the state police armed units, the State Reserve Police Force, the jail department, and the forest guard cadres.
The Agnipath scheme is a recruitment model for the Indian Armed Forces that inducts personnel as Agniveers for a fixed tenure. The scheme was introduced in 2022 for recruitment into the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
6. Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar lays foundation stone of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Headquarters in New Delhi.
During the event, financial assistance of one crore rupees under the Personal Accident Insurance Scheme was handed over to the families of deceased CISF personnel. Furthermore, customized motorable wheelchairs were also presented to differently-abled dependent children of Force personnel.
