1. Monsoon Session of Parliament began on a stormy note yesterday. Both Houses of Parliament witnessed multiple adjournments following uproar by Opposition parties over various issues including the NEET paper leak case. The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were later adjourned for the day.

2. Skyroot Aerospace has achieved a historic milestone with the successful launch of its Vikram-1 rocket under Mission Aagaman.On 18 July, the seven-storey-tall vehicle lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota and placed multiple payloads into a 450 km Low Earth Orbit.

3. On the first day of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly’s Monsoon Session yesterday, the state government introduced the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill, 2026. Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar said the House will take up the Bill for discussion tomorrow, following which further proceedings will be carried out.

4. The five-day Monsoon Session of the Bihar Legislature began yesterday. The session will continue until the 24th of July and will comprise a total of five sittings.

5. Many parts of Punjab and Haryana are experiencing heavy to very heavy rain, giving relief from hot and humid weather conditions. The Met Department had issued an orange alert of the prevailing weather conditions in both the states.

6. Punjab Government has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure a smooth transition from MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) to the newly implemented VB G RAM G (Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission) scheme, while safeguarding employment opportunities for rural workers and ensuring uninterrupted execution of development works across the state.

7. The new Rameshwar-Paradeep Coastal Highway is over a 160-kilometre corridor that will redefine connectivity across Odisha’s coastal belt. The project being developed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has the total capital cost of over eight thousand crore rupees.

8. The Indian Institute of Technology, Goa, on 19 Jul held its seventh Convocation Ceremony in Ponda. A total of 188 students from the B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. programmes were awarded their degrees. Medals were also presented to students for outstanding academic performance.

9. The Char Dham Yatra is temporarily suspended for some time yesterday as a precautionary measure in view of safety concerns. Amid a heavy rainfall warning in several districts of Uttarakhand and reports of landslides qat various locations along the Char Dham Yatra route, the authorities decided to halt the pilgrimage temporarily.

10. IMD issues red alert warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall over parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

1. The National Human Rights Commission has issued notice to the Rajasthan Chief Secretary over the reported assault of girl students of classes ninth and eleventh by two teachers at a government school in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan.

2. A single-judge bench of the Calcutta High Court today rejected the plea of Trinamool Congress general secretary and Lok Sabha member Abhishek Banerjee, seeking permission to travel overseas for ophthalmic treatment.

3. Chief Minister of West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari tabled in the State Assembly the inquiry report of the Justice (Retd.) Sushanta Chattopadhyay Commission on the police firing incident of 21st July, 1993 in central Kolkata area. While presenting the report, he levelled several allegations against former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress government for not tabling the report and bringing it into the public domain.

4. The Delhi Police has appealed to all the protestors in New Delhi to maintain peace, exercise restraint, and cooperate with the police in ensuring peace and public order.

1. In Assam, continuous rainfall has triggered landslides at several locations in Guwahati yesterday. A major landslide occurred at Madhabdev Nagar in the Goshala area of Maligaon, causing severe damage to a residential house.

2. In Sikkim, all 16 workers trapped inside the under-construction Samardung tunnel in Southern part of the state were safely rescued

3. In Jammu and Kashmir, four more people lost their lives in rain-related incidents across Jammu division yesterday, taking the death toll to 16 over the past two days. J&K CM Omar Abdullah Announces ₹6 Lakh Ex Gratia for Rain-Related Deaths.

4. In Nagaland, flash floods and landslides triggered by torrential rains across several districts yesterday, causing widespread damage and loss of lives. In Mon District, nine people were killed after flash floods and landslides washed away houses.

1. The Indian Air Force has issued a Request for Information under the Make in India initiative for man‑portable loitering munitions, specifying a minimum range of 40 kilometres, endurance beyond two hours, and the ability to carry high‑explosive or HEAT warheads.

2. India is making a decisive leap into stratospheric aviation with the development of High‑Altitude Pseudo‑Satellites, bridging the gap between drones and satellites. Information dominance has always been central to modern warfare, and the fog of war that once paralysed commanders has been reduced by sensors, communications, and computing.

3. In Assam, the Indian Army has launched ‘Operation Jal Rahat’ to support the government in large-scale rescue and relief operations as worsening floods continue to inundate several parts of eastern Assam.
