2. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday, May 12, took into its custody a 30-year-old student from Nashik in Maharashtra in connection with the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak.
A crime branch unit 2 of the Nashik Police detained Shubham Khairnar, a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from Nandgaon. He allegedly paid Rs 10 lakh for the leaked paper and then sold it online for Rs 15 lakh to another buyer from Haryana.
3. The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the proposal for appointment of nine advocates as judges of the Calcutta High Court.
4. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to roll out phase three of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters’ list in the next “coming days”, officials said that it could cover the remaining 22 States and Union Territories (UTs) covering nearly 40 crore electors.
