2. In Assam, re-polling at Polling Station No. 239, Babyland High English School, under North Karimganj Assembly Constituency in Sribhumi District, was conducted peacefully as per Election Commission directives.

3. Polling for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections will be held today, with voting scheduled from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM across 1,257 polling stations for 28 seats.

4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday asserted that refugees will receive full constitutional rights while infiltrators will be expelled. He was addressing a public rally at Katwa in West Bengal.

5. Sundra, a remote village on the India–Pakistan border in Rajasthan’s Barmer district, has entered a new phase of life with the arrival of potable tap water from the Narmada canal network. The water has travelled about 728 km from the Sardar Sarovar system to reach the village, ending a long history of scarcity in one of the harshest desert regions of the state. The milestone is especially significant because many households in Sundra are receiving clean tap water for the first time since Independence.

6. All electric cars with an ex-showroom price of 30 lakh rupees or less registered in the national capital will be granted 100 per cent exemption on road tax and registration fees till 31 March 2030. The Delhi Government released a draft of its Electric Vehicle Policy for the period 2026 to 2030, aiming to accelerate the adoption of clean mobility.

7. The Maharashtra government has directed city gas distribution companies to activate 24×7 helplines and increase the number of centres processing applications for piped natural gas (PNG) connections. The step has been taken in the wake of the global energy supply crisis that has arisen due to conflict in West Asia.

1. The Madras High Court, Friday (April 10, 2026), ordered notices to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on a public interest litigation petition accusing Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s secretary P. Umanath of having violated the model code of conduct by issuing administrative instructions to Collectors and police officers.

2. In Tamil Nadu, the Election Commission has transferred State Home Secretary Dheeraj Kumar. Manivasan has been appointed as Home Secretary by the Election Commission.

3. The Delhi Police Special Cell busted an interstate terror, arms, and espionage module linked to Pakistan’s ISI, arresting 11 people. The network used solar-powered CCTV cameras near sensitive military sites in Punjab and Rajasthan for real-time intelligence sharing and was planning grenade attacks on defense installations.

4. In Hyderabad, Telangana, The HYDRAA demolishes farmhouse, two guest houses, three apartment towers and an office structure at Ilapur in Ameenpur. HYDRAA says it freed 861 acres of government land worth more than ₹15,000 crore. Structures reportedly came up in violation of High Court stay orders.

1. In Bihar, at least seven people were killed and 18 others injured following a collision involving a bus, a truck and a pickup van in Katihar district.

2. A helicopter ferrying Maharashtra minister Chhagan Bhujbal missed the designated helipad and touched down at a location about 1,300 metres away in Pune district on Saturday, though he downplayed the incident by insisting it was “a smooth landing” and not an accident scare.

1. The Indian Army launched Operation HimSetu to rescue over 1,400 stranded tourists and locals in North Sikkim after landslides and a bridge collapse near Lachen disrupted connectivity. Despite extreme weather and snowfall, the Army completed a swift evacuation within 48 hours.

2. India has prioritized the ‘FUFA’ (Futuristic Unmanned Fighter Aircraft), an agile 7-8 ton class UCAV derived from the SWIFT technology demonstrator. It will be powered by a Kaveri derivative engine and armed with Astra Mk2 missiles.

3. The Indian Air Force is evaluating the deployment of Rafale fighter jets in the Southern Theater to significantly enhance its long-range maritime strike capabilities.

4. The Indian Army Chief dedicated a state-of-the-art additive manufacturing facility at the 515 Army Base Workshop. It features advanced 3D scanning and metal/polymer printing to enable rapid repairs and faster prototyping.

5. HAL handed over four ALH Dhruv Mk III maritime helicopters to the Indian Coast Guard as part of a nine-helicopter contract signed in March 2024.

1. The government on Saturday hiked export duty, or windfall tax, on diesel to Rs 55.5 per litre and on aviation fuel ATF to Rs 42 a litre.

The government had, on March 26, imposed an export duty of Rs 21.50 a litre on diesel, and Rs 29.5 per litre on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). The duties were levied to increase domestic availability of the fuel amid the war in West Asia.
