1. PM Modi will visit Karnataka and Telangana tomorrow. Prime minister will first travel to Karnataka, to participate in the 45th Anniversary Celebrations of The Art of Living in Bengaluru. He will also inaugurate the newly constructed Dhyan Mandir at the Art of Living International Centre.

*Thereafter, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Telangana to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple development projects worth around nine thousand 400 crore rupees in Hyderabad

2. India has introduced QR-code-enabled identity cards for Census enumerators as part of the upcoming Census 2027 exercise. The new system allows residents to verify the authenticity of Census staff by scanning the QR code using a mobile device.

3. West Bengal got its first BJP-led government after Suvendu Adhikari took oath as the ninth Chief Minister of the state on May 9, 2026. Along with him, five BJP leaders were sworn in as ministers during the ceremony held at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata.

Launched on May 9, 2015, the schemes were introduced to provide affordable insurance and pension coverage to millions of Indians, especially people from low-income and unorganised sectors.

10. The government has announced the winners of the National Panchayat Awards 2025. 42 Panchayats from across the country have been selected for the honours. 1. Delhi Pollution Control Committee launched Road RADAR on 8 May 2026 in Delhi to identify sources of air pollution through daily ground-level surveys. Road RADAR stands for Real-time Air Pollution Detection Across Roads and uses geo-tagged reporting for rapid redressal of dispersed pollution sources.

2. Bihar introduced the Traffic Challan One-Time Settlement Scheme, 2026, through a gazette notification dated 30 April 2026. The scheme offers up to 50% relief on pending traffic e-challans for specified offences and remains operational through the financial year 2026-27.

3. The Supreme Court of India has proposed the creation of a permanent women-only Vice-President post in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) starting from the 2027-28 election cycle.

4. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches at 17 locations in Mumbai with three cases registered against Reliance ADA Group companies in connection with alleged frauds involving thousands of crores of rupees.
