1. The Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar unveiled the plaque of the Arun Jaitley Multipurpose Stadium at Shri Ram College of Commerce, SRCC, University of Delhi on Saturday. The stadium has been named to commemorate the former Union Minister Arun Jaitley’s contribution towards nation building and his deep affection for his alma mater, SRCC.
2. PM Modi inaugurated the strategically significant Sela Tunnel project during his day-long visit to Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. Built with a total cost of Rs 825 crore, the tunnel project is constructed at an altitude of 13,700 feet in West Kameng district on the road connecting Tezpur to Tawang. The foundation stone of the project was laid by PM Modi in February 2019.
3. Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stone of about 12 projects worth 8,534 crore rupees for Tripura virtually during his visit to Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. The important projects, include construction of Agartala Western Bypass.

8. Sharad Pawar, who heads the NCP (SP), on Saturday declared MP Supriya Sule as their candidate from Maharashtra’s Baramati Lok Sabha seat, amid speculation that Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar could be fielded from there.

Six Himachal Pradesh Congress MLAs who voted against party nominee Abhishek Manu Singhvi in the Rajya Sabha elections, along with three Independent lawmakers, have shifted to a hotel in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Uttarakhand amid an ongoing rebellion against Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

In Telangana, Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday announced the setting up of a Pay Revision Commission (PRC) for the TS Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees and that the staff would get a 21 per cent fitment from next month. The approximately 42,057 employees were waiting for eight years for the announcement.
11. Punjab Cabinet approves excise policy for 2024-25
Prices of imported foreign liquor (IFL) will drop while there will be no increase in the rates of country liquor, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said on Saturday as the state Cabinet gave its nod to the excise policy for 2024-25.
12. Former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has resigned as the president of the state Congress, ahead of the Lok Sabha and the Assembly elections.
13. BSP to contest forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections alone, says party Chief Mayawati.
14. Delhi Assembly passed a resolution asking the Chief Secretary of Delhi to appear before the House and apprise it of the progress report regarding the redressal of complaints of the citizens related to water supply by the Delhi Jal Board and leakage and maintenance of the sewer lines.

1. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), probing the IED bomb blast at the Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru’s Brookefield on March 1, shared four fresh pictures of the suspected bomber and sought public support in identification.
2. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday arrested 36-year-old Jaffer Sadiq, an expelled Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam functionary in Tamil Nadu, in connection with an international drugs trafficking racket investigation estimated to be worth more than Rs 2,000 crore.
3. Rail traffic in parts of North India is likely to be hit due to a protest call by the Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee and Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political). They have announced a four-hour ‘rail roko’ agitation in Punjab from noon on Sunday. Farmers are set to stop trains at 52 places in 22 districts.

1. On the occasion of International women’s day and 40th anniversary of INAS 318, the Andaman & Nicobar Command conducted a maiden all-women maritime surveillance mission on Friday, March 08. INAS 318 is the Andaman & Nicobar Command’s elite Naval Air Squadron, which has been continually engaged in surveillance since its commissioning on the same day in 1984.
2. Armenia has recently confirmed its decision to procure 84 of the Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) from India, an investment of $155 million.
3. Top commanders of the Indian Navy carried out a comprehensive review of the security challenges facing the nation in the maritime domain and vowed to work towards boosting the combat capabilities of the force including in the strategically-located island territories. India on Wednesday commissioned a new naval base, INS Jatayu, at Minicoy in Lakshadweep islands to enhance its combat prowess amid China’s increasing forays into the Indian Ocean region.
4. India will soon carry out the next phase of tests for two nuclear-capable ballistic missiles including a submarine-launched one.The missile will likely be fired between 11 and 16 March, with the final launch depending on several factors, including weather conditions.
5. The Indian Army is set to significantly enhance its long-range offensive artillery capabilities along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China by raising and deploying two new regiments of Pinaka Multi Launch Rocket Systems. These long-range vectors, designed and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), will deliver a high volume of firepower precisely and swiftly deep into enemy territory.
