1. Polling ends peacefully for Assembly Elections in Assam, Keralam, and Puducherry; Assam registers over 85 percent voter turnout; Keralam over 78 percent and Puducherry about 89 per cent.

2. Puducherry has scripted history by recording the highest-ever voter turnout in its Assembly elections, reflecting an exceptional display of democratic participation across the Union Territory. In the Union Territory of Puducherry, 89.83 percent voting was recorded.

3. PM Modi has said that reservation for women in legislative bodies is the need of the hour to make Indian democracy more vibrant and participative. Expressing his thoughts in an Op-Ed, PM Modi said any delay in bringing this reservation will be deeply unfortunate.

4. The National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation will celebrate its 25th Foundation Day today in New Delhi. The event will be attended by Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram and Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durga Das Uikey.

5. In Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu Municipal Corporation and Jammu Smart City Limited is preparing for the Swachh Tawi Mahotsav, a major celebration of local heritage and environmental care. 6. The Union Cabinet has approved the Investment Proposal for the construction of 1200 MW Kalai-II Hydro Electric Project in Anjaw District of Arunachal Pradesh with an outlay of 14105.83 crore rupees and a completion period of 78 months.

3. The Indian Army has dispatched a contingent to Egypt to participate in the fourth edition of Exercise Cyclone, a joint special forces drill between India and Egypt. The exercise, scheduled to take place in Anshas, Egypt, reflects the growing defence partnership and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Amid Dhurandhar 2 storm, many filmmakers are recalibrating about the release window of their films. One of those movies is the Salman Khan-starrer Maatrubhumi, directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salma Khan of Salman Khan Films.

Maatrubhumi will miss its April 17 release date and is likely to be released in August. Originally titled Battle of Galwan, the film is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between the Indian Army and Chinese troops.
