1. The Maharashtra Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, approved key proposals to strengthen tribal and technical education in the state. The Cabinet cleared the upgradation of five primary Ashram schools to secondary level and 19 secondary schools to higher secondary level (junior colleges).
2. Nagaland has taken a major push to expand health coverage of its younger citizens, with the launch of the ‘100 Days Ayushman Student Coverage Mission’. The Mission is being rolled out across the state from May to August led by the Nagaland Health Protection Society in collaboration with the district administrations.

2. The Delhi Police has busted an interstate cyber fraud racket and arrested five accused from Uttarakhand. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rajeev Kumar said, the accused were engaged in online investment scams and task-based frauds.
3. The Archaeological Survey of India on Tuesday told the Madhya Pradesh high court, hearing the Bhojshala temple-Kamal Maula mosque complex case, that a massive structure dating back to the reign of Parmar kings existed at the site and the current structure was built from the remains of temples.

1. India’s Defence Ministry has signed a ₹1,400 crore contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Hyderabad, to supply five advanced ground-based mobile electronic systems (GBMES) to the Indian Army.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi’s visit to Myanmar marked a significant step in strengthening bilateral defence ties.On 4 May, Admiral Tripathi held discussions with Senior-General Ye Win Oo, Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Defence Forces, and also met General Htun Aung, Myanmar’s Minister of Defence.

6. India has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) designating a vast stretch of the Bay of Bengal as a danger zone for a long-range missile test, with the warning active from April 25 to May 6, 2026. The NOTAM covers a corridor extending up to approximately 3,550 km, signaling preparations for an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) launch.

1. Veteran producer RB Choudhary has passed away after being involved in a car crash in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The cause of the crash and the state of further members involved in it, is not known yet.
RB Choudhary has been producing films since 1988 under his Super Good films banner. His first Tamil production came with Pudhu Vasantham (1990), which was the debut of director Vikraman.
He is the father of actors Jiiva and Jithan Ramesh.
2. Bollywood star Salman Khan plays the character of Jiva Mahala in Raja Shivaji. Although this character appears only in a cameo role, he plays a pivotal part in driving the narrative forward. Even today, his valour and martial prowess are celebrated within the Maratha Empire and a popular adage regarding him remains widely cited to this day.
