1. India will set to begin the Census 2027 from the next year in
2027. It is the 16th Census in the history and 8th after the
Independence. As the Phase 1 was started from the April 1,
2026.

2. The 128th meeting of the Enforcement Task Force (ETF) under the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in NCR and adjoining areas was recently convened to review ongoing measures for controlling air pollution. The meeting focused on strengthening enforcement strategies and ensuring coordinated action among various states to tackle deteriorating air quality in the Delhi-NCR region.

3. High-speed rail projects in India: The Ministry of Railways has set a target to complete the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for three bullet train corridors by March 2027. These include the Hyderabad-Chennai, Hyderabad-Bengaluru and Patna-Siliguri routes.

6. In Nagaland, Easter was celebrated with prayers, sunrise services, and messages of hope as the Christian community marked the resurrection of Jesus Christ with deep spiritual devotion. 1. Delhi Government has imposed a complete ban on the sale of LPG cylinders directly from godowns. Oil Marketing Companies have issued clear instructions to all distributors, stating that any such sale is illegal and will attract strict action.

2. A Senior Haryana IAS officer D Suresh, who faces allegations of causing financial loss to Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) in reassigning a school site in Gurgaon, has approached Punjab and Haryana high court challenging the move to implicate him in the case.

3. Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted a fake medicine manufacturing racket in the National Capital and some parts of Uttar Pradesh.

4. Senior Congress MP P Chidambaram on Sunday objected to the proposal to increase Lok Sabha seats from 543 to 816, saying the Lower House will become a “large and unwieldy” gathering with each MP having fewer occasions and less time to speak.

5. The Government is making all efforts to ensure availability of Petrol, Diesel and LPG across the country. It has advised citizens to use digital modes for booking LPG cylinders and avoid visiting distributors unless necessary.

1. INS Aridhaman has been formally commissioned into service, marking a significant expansion of India’s sea‑based nuclear deterrent. The submarine, reportedly 1,000 tons heavier than its predecessors Arihant and Arighaat, was inducted at a ceremony in Visakhapatnam presided over by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

2. India has launched a significant plan to develop indigenous 1,000‑kg aerial bombs, marking a decisive step towards self‑reliance in strategic munitions.The Ministry of Defence has issued an Expression of Interest to design, develop, and procure these heavy bombs, ensuring compatibility with both Russian and Western aircraft currently in service with the Indian Air Force.

3. India is embarking on a bold new chapter in its aerospace journey with the decision to convert two Su‑30MKI fighter jets into dedicated flying testbeds for indigenous engine development.

4. The Indian Air Force has announced a bold initiative to develop hydrogen-powered autonomous airships, signalling a major technological leap in its surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.The project, formally titled the Medium Altitude Heavy Lift Airship, is envisioned as a pilotless platform capable of operating at altitudes of around 30,000 feet while carrying payloads of up to 5,000 kilograms.

5. A grand Passing Out Parade of the PRCN (SD) – 174 Course was held at the NCC Officers Training Academy Kamptee, marking a proud milestone as 513 Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) earned their stars after successful completion of training.
The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding of Kharga Corps.
