1. Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurpurab will be celebrated across the country and abroad today. It marks the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who laid the foundation of Sikhism. President Droupadi Murmu has extended greetings to all fellow citizens on the eve of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
2. Campaigning ends for first phase of Bihar Assembly elections; Polling in this phase to be held in 121 Assembly constituencies across 18 districts on Thursday.
3. The second phase of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has commenced from yesterday in nine States and three Union territories. The large-scale revision of the electoral rolls will conclude with the publication of the final voter list on 7th of February, next year.
4. The new phase of SIR will include Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh,, West Bengal ,Puducherry,Lakshadweep,Andaman and Nicobar Islands, spanning across 321 districts and 1 thousand 8 hundred 43 assembly constituencies.
5. The Election Commission has made elaborate security arrangements for the first phase. According to the poll panel, for the first time, one General Observer will be deployed in each constituency. Webcasting will be conducted at all polling stations to closely monitor the electoral process.

1. The Supreme Court on Monday (November 3, 2025) agreed to list again for hearing a plea of AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi seeking extension of time for the mandatory registration of all Waqf properties, including ‘Waqf by user’, under the UMEED portal.
2. Fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi’s extradition has been suspended after he challenged before the Supreme Court of Belgium the October 17 order of the Antwerp Court of Appeals, which had termed India’s request seeking his extradition “enforceable”.

4. Enforcement Directorate has attached over 132 acres of land at Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City in Navi Mumbai. The value of this attachment is ₹4,462.81 crore. This action brings the total attached assets in Reliance Group’s alleged loan frauds to over ₹7,500 crore. The probe investigates alleged diversion of bank loans by Reliance Communications and other ADAG companies.
5. Four members of the armed group United Kuki National Army (UKNA) were killed during an encounter with security forces in Manipur’s Churachandpur district early Tuesday (November 4, 2025) morning. The security forces later caught a member of the outfit during an incident at Khanpi village under the Henglep subdivision.

1. In Chhattisgarh, six people lost their lives and around twenty others were injured in a train accident near Bilaspur this evening. The incident occurred around 4 PM when a passenger train collided with a stationary goods train near Lal Khadan.
2. 27 passengers and the driver of a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) super luxury bus were injured when the Metpalli-bound vehicle hit a paddy-laden tractor-trailer from behind on Rajiv Rahadari (SH 1) at Renikunta bridge in Thimmapur mandal of Karimnagar district in the early hours on Tuesday (November 4, 2025). The tractor driver also suffered injuries in the collision.
